Taking her hand, guiding it out to the side with his other one, Loki stepped closer. Pulling her closer too, as he stepped into position and his arm and hand went around her, hand resting against her upper back but below the shoulders. "Now I suppose the next question is, do you know how to follow?" One half of his mouth quirked upwards teasingly, blue-green eyes giving her a slow blink.
"Usually no." She admits as she moves her hand to his shoulder. She's always had a bit of struggle in letting someone lead, Christine has always been very in charge of herself.
But this is just a dance, she can let go, and trust him for this.
"Well, then this will be interesting now won't it?" That mischief was back in his smile. A moment for him to catch the beat, before he was leading her in a waltz. It was not slow, the way most pictured the dance but quite lively actually. Keeping pace, watching her and studying her while keeping his senses aware of the space. It really didn't take much space.
It takes a few steps before she actually does let herself trust him, looking to his eyes. His hand on her back guides her and she does fall into step with him.
His eyes are beautiful up close and she is feeling a flush come to her cheeks.
"Interesting that you trust me despite all warnings and awareness you should not." Those eyes are calculating, as well. "How easy it would be to bring a knife to your back..." Indeed she'd feel a faint evanescent shimmer, then cool steel pressed flat against her back where his hand was. "...were I inclined to betray you. I am very good at that, you know."
"I could make it even more personal and not use a blade at all. It would be easy to break your neck, were I inclined to do so." Now that was an interesting reaction. Then again, that she responded well to adrenaline rushes wasn't a surprise given her profession.
The dagger is vanished, though his hand remains at her back, just below her shoulder-blades. He does take the opportunity to touch, removing his hand from hers only to trace gently against the skin, following the lines of veins and arteries. "Absolutely nothing, which is why I haven't." Another slow blink. "I just find it interesting." Find her interesting, he means.
Loki tilted his head, studying her some more. Definitely interesting in her reaction, and somehow he both was and was not surprised. "That's hardly interesting, Christine. You can do better than that." A taunting challenge.
A slow smile, and that hand moved from her neck to her cheek, brushing softly. As she stepped closer his arm moved down, hand sliding around her waist and barely touching her hip. Keeping her close, allowing this invasion in his space.
Not nearly so obvious in his own attraction, but he'd pulled her closer all the same. Touched her, was keeping her close. "One of the interesting things, yes."
"I can remind you again, if you like. I'm a talented liar, known for betrayal, always on my own side first, and generally as a rule, think that humans are well beneath me." He's far leaner than Thor or many other Asgardians, but solid enough from the feel of it, with how close they are. "The real question is, what do you want Christine?"
A moment's pause, that hand moving under her chin to tilt it up gently. "Are we to be 'friends'?" Or did she want something more.
"Very dangerous." She mutters, she obviously isn't taking any of those warnings to heart at the moment, not when he is so solid and present against her.
"I want to kiss you." There, she may as well just admit it.
She doesn't expect any sort of relationship, he doesn't even care about humans really.
"Be very certain, Christine." Loki said softly, seriously. "I promise you nothing." Blue-green eyes were narrowed, head tilted. Thumb stroking her jaw softly.
First of all, he allowed it. Second of all, if there was any doubt that he was also interested... Well, that hand holding her chin and jaw moved to cup the nape of her neck instead. Keeping her in that kiss.
Indeed, he was returning it. Lips moving softly against her own, curious and enjoying and in no hurry. Learning the feel of her mouth against his, letting her learn his against her own.
Christine is surprised by how gentle the kiss is. They're investigating one another and they're both methodical about it. She brushes her fingers through his hair.
They are investigating one another, testing out this new development so to speak. Loki guarded what heart he did have very very jealously. She's already managed to worm her way in to where he enjoyed her company, held some sentimental affection for her.
Being lovers would complicate things though. But when did he let that stop him? Complicated and 'trouble' just often made him more determined.
"I'm insulted. You sound surprised by that." But Loki was smiling anyways, and still cupping the back of her hair and nape. Arm still around her waist too. "That was very pleasant though."
