"Haven't you figured out I'm a liar yet?" With a little smirk, but there's...something more there. It was a very good thing that Loki had strong shields and a strong will. "You're worth treating well, Sweetling."
"Noted." Loki murmured, letting the illusion over himself vanish. Fingers tangling in her hair, around the tiara too. Leaning down to kiss her again. Deep, wanting, trying to tell her without words the complicated emotions he was feeling.
Her mind lightly brushes his as he kisses her, her body pressing solidly against him.
Despite how quickly they've moved, Christine has no doubts that there is something here. Something different that she needs to explore fully. She brushes her fingers against his cheek as her lips move against his.
He was ready to curse that there was work to do, instead of just dragging her back to that enormous tub and loving her. He leans into her touch, changing the angle of the kiss to be more full. Accepting the brush of her mind, reaching out himself to hold hers. A different sensation than when he'd lain the shield over her own--this was pure 'touch'.
Which is exactly what they do, sharing brushes of their minds and tasting each other. There is a knock, and Loki pulls away, muttering a soft curse in a language she doesn't understand. A brief visual check, eyes skimming over her. ...she looked thoroughly kissed...
"A moment." He called, turning his head so he wasn't seeming to shout at her. Loki also didn't bother to hide the irritation he felt.
Surprise or not, there is decorum to these things--and Loki doesn't want her embarrassed. Or to be embarrassed himself. She's not allowed to step too far, as Loki smooths her hair down carefully. A shimmer of magic over himself, and he looks put-together once more. Squeezing her hand, before also taking another step, and another. Before he moves over, unlocking the door via the control panel. It opens with a swiff of sound, revealing a boy who looked to be in his late teens with a stack of documents.
"Anything else, my Lord?" The clerk asks. Loki turns to Christine. "I'll be pretty boring for the immediate future." He says aloud, while his mind brushes hers in a caress. You're welcome to stay, Sweetling, or I can see about arranging a distraction for you.
You should also let your work know where you'll be, if you haven't already. Loki reminded her, still brushing her mind softly.
"Is it to be a formal dinner tonight?" He asked the page. "No my Lord. His Majesty has arranged that for tomorrow, with as full compliments as we can give to our visitors." It only made sense--they'd need time to put together something that might qualify as a 'formal dinner' with their limited resources. It also told Loki when he'd need to coach Christine on protocol.
Tonight would, if there was any gathering, likely be informal. Thor, Heimdall, Brunhild...he'd be expected with Christine of course. Banner had left months ago or he'd have been included.
"That will be all." Loki confirmed; the page gave a brief bow, before heading off to other duties. For safety, Loki re-locked the door, stack of documents in one hand. "I just don't want you to be bored."
She's got her phone set near his bed so she gets it to send a message taking the week off.
She's happy to hear that she has an extra evening to prepare for a formal dinner.
"I'll be fine, I started reading one of your history books already." And there is no promise she won't take a little nap, it's been a long, stressful day.
There is the equivalent of a mini-bar with drinks both alcoholic and not in the sitting room as well. "I figured I should start learning more about our new home." Coming over to her, Loki reached out to take her hand. Squeezing softly, before bringing it up to his lips. "Vær velkommen på rommene mine." She might be able to recognize a word in that, maybe two.
That brings a small chuckle, but he heads over to the desk anyways. It's quiet, companionable, and hopefully he won't disturb her as he does pace occasionally while thinking things over.
She is welcome to nap on the bed, as its easily large enough for two. The coverings are soft, with a myriad of pillows. The equivalent to a window shade was drawn, and the lights could be adjusted to a soft glow. If she needed anything, she was welcome to either rummage for it, or simple ask him.
It's nice to know he's close after what feels like too long without him. She occasionally hears footfalls as he moves about but it's not nearly loud enough to disturb her.
She does read for a while, before her eyes get heavy and she dozes off.
As she'd noticed earlier, there was the feel of him--on the bed especially. A faint scent (something wintry with a hint of bitter), a 'shimmery' sort of feel that seemed to slide away when reached for. Warm, and soft coverings, with one likely an alien-fur of some kind. She's welcome to sleep and make herself comfortable.
It will be another few hours before she's awoken. A brush of fingers through her hair, an even gentler kiss...
She ends up kicking off her boots and snuggling under some of his blankets.
When she feels that little kiss her lips turn up before she responds in kind, just for a moment. He has these moments of being so incredibly gentle and sweet.
"Everything that's going to be done for now." Still brushing his fingers through her hair. At some point he'd made time to change out of the light armor he'd worn for most of that day. Like her, his outfit was a subtle blend of Earth and Asgardian. Mostly for the green top, over black canvas slacks and sturdy boots.
Taking that invitation, he curls himself around her, careful of his boots but otherwise getting as close as he could. "After dinner, Sweetling. I've insisted that evenings be my own, and I doubt anyone will expect different given your visit." It's teasing but also a promise.
"So you were going over all of the political bits?" That sort of thing seems a bit less secretive and like he may be more likely to talk about it with her.
"Looking for any and all loopholes." He confirmed. "Our position is tenuous in some ways. As I said, we're lucky to have not been regarded as an invading force." Lazily, he strokes along her spine. "There are those who would like us to find somewhere else to settle, whether it be in the nation or not. There are some who feel its blasphemy to suggest such a thing, still believing we're Gods. There are those who are happy for our presence here. It's all a lovely tangle."
"A spaceship of refugee gods does seem politically complicated." There are likely some people who are absolutely thrilled to have the children of Odin living in Norway.
"This is quite a small village, I can understand why locals would be concerned." It's the same all over, mass immigration causes worry about supplies and jobs.

"So long as you continue to let me use that enormous tub I won't mind the lies."

Did it matter how long they kissed? Probably not.

Until then it's just kissing and mental caresses.

Her lips are swollen and she takes a little step away from him so he can answer the door.

Christine doesn't make any effort to move, letting Loki handle his work.
I'll stay if you don't mind. The sofa is comfortable.
She doesn't mind just flopping on the sofa and reading one of his history books.

She likes his rooms, they feel cozy enough for her to be able to relax.
