"That can be arranged." Looking her up and down, but in an assessing way. "I'd prescribe a good soak, and an early dinner in your quarters. You are, technically, on semi-vacation."

She'd been working hard, and he would be happy to help her sore shoulder. He might just take his own advice, especially if it was joining her. But he did actually have an idea for that evening. Something she might enjoy.

I do have something I want to show you. Would you rather now, or later?

"A relaxing evening would be nice."

Especially since she won't be alone for it.

Now? If you don't mind me being sweaty.

Her curiosity has been piqued.

Ask me aloud, and however you want, if you can see more of the ship. Loki prompted.

"I've been wondering, could you give me a tour of the ship? I've not gotten the chance to just look around."

It's a funny feeling to speak aloud sometimes, at least with him, when they don't need to anymore.

"A good idea, and it will keep you from stiffening up right away, but not be so taxing." As if he hadn't prompted it. "So we'll start here. This is the area we've designated for training. It was originally a gym of some kind, so hasn't required much in the way of modification. We did move some equipment out of the way..." Offering his arm, Loki proceeded to give her an abbreviated tour of the ship. At least, the obviously tourist areas.

They ended in a non-descript area that looked remarkably like a spaceship's docking bay, as the Statesman had no hanger of it's own. "And here, is where other ships would dock with the Statesman. Currently there is only one, however. The Commodore, if you'd like to see it?"

It was purely a pleasure cruiser ship before we got to it. It was modified on Asgard, and since then we've been working on repairing and modifying it further. I say we, but this is the other project I've been busy with.

"It does feel like a gym in here."

He's not a bad tour guide, though she knows he's being sneaky about getting her somewhere.

"I absolutely want to see the other spaceship." The Statesmen had been the first she had ever been on.

You've been repairing a spaceship yourself.

Not entirely by myself, but there are definitely some things I've handled that I haven't wanted others involved in.

"Fortunately, we're not in orbit so there's no worry about the airlock." Gesturing to one of the doors, and they were stepping into a little chamber with a door on the other side that connected to a walkway that retracted. It was all like a very futuristic airplane's terminal. The inside of the Commodore was nice, with carpeted walkways. If the Statesman were a cruise ship, this was a yacht.

"We've also thoroughly cleaned it." Now that they were alone again, Loki smiled again. This time however, it was not his polite smile, but a genuine one.

The ship is impressive, legitimately very science fiction. She wanders around looking at everything.

"Who had it before you?" If it needed that much cleaning. It's good to see his real smile again.

"A being known as the Grandmaster, who ruled Sakaar. At least the parts that weren't left to scavengers and cannibals. Sakaar itself was rather a dumping ground for lost things. The man's ideas of entertainment would fit in well with your Romans." Definitely not putting on any acts, although there is still a dry tone to his last statement. "Time also moved differently there. But yes--come with me to the cockpit. I wanted to show you something." Reaching for her hand, twining their fingers. "And I couldn't care less that you're sweaty, for what it's worth."

"The cleaning makes sense." The kind of man who went for bloodsport probably also went for some other recreational activities.

She enjoys the little hand hold, a hint of her happiness sliping through to touch him.

"You might have a super human sense of smell, I wouldn't want to be smelly."

"Actually, as far as I've been able to tell, Asgardians and Jotunn do not." There's a teasing grin on his face. "Besides, I do kind of associate you being sweaty with very good things. We can explore that later, if you want."

It wasn't a long walk, as it was still a relatively small ship. The cockpit was at the very nose, and she could see the curve of the two circular wings meeting in front of it. She could easily look up and out. Two seats up front, one being very obviously the pilot's, and one behind. Loki raised her hand up to kiss it, before settling himself into the Pilot's seat. "If you'll strap in? I do seem to recall you wanted to travel, but felt that off-planet travel was too expensive." Not that he'd bothered to strap in...

"You have prescribed a hot bath, I wouldn't want to go against your wise suggestions."

She is so tempted to touch buttons, but that would probably make the whole thing explode or something.

"Really?" She's taking the seat and fastening belts. She's a bit nervous, given the surprise nature of this bit of space travel.

"It's far safer than what you have on Midgard, don't worry." While she's doing that, he's been busy disengaging the docking-ramp and powering the ship up. "I don't plan for us to go far either. Although I'm certain this ship has a suitable bathtub and food as well if we need it."

It isn't long before his attention is mostly taken by piloting. Pulling away from the Statesman, to skim over the ocean a bit, before moving further up. And up. And UP. Into the stars, and comfortably out of direct Earth Orbit.

"I guess that's reassuring" the rest of the universe has been doing space travel a lot longer than Earth.

Sh can hear her heart absolutely pounding in her ears as they pull up, and just keep going. The curve of the Earth becomes visible and then the edge of the atmosphere. It's beautiful, and a bit terrifying.

Once they've settled into a comfortable position that is not quite fully in Earth's Orbit--out of the way of any of it's own satellites--Loki engages the auto-pilot. Then turns in the chair, to study Christine. "How are you doing? And I'm not sorry for springing this on you, either." All mischief and satisfied smile.

"I think my pulse is returning to a vaugely normal rate." She is a hint pale, but she's recovering well.

She shakes her head and then laughs, "You are not boring, I will admit that much."

"I would hope not." Said with a laugh of his own. "I had hoped you'd enjoy the surprise though."

[drpalmer]

"It's amazing." She's finally able to really look out the windows.

"You brought me to space." She reaches out to him, needing a bit of contact as if proving this is real.

Loki gets out of his chair, taking her hand where she reaches to him and moving closer. "I did. We're also safe enough as I can make us." Bringing her hand up to kiss it, blue-green eyes sparkling.

She nods and uses her freehand to unlatch her belts so she can stand.

"There are so many stars. You can barely see any from the city."

He encourages her more towards the pilot's area, then shifts to stand behind her and wrap his arms around her. Resting his head by hers. "Better than an illusion, yes?"

[drpalmer]

"So much better." This might be the single coolest thing she's ever done. Her arms rest over his.

"Probably good you didn't tell me so I wouldn't have a chance to chicken out." She chuckles.

He chuckles with her. "You don't seem the type to chicken-out so easily. You've survived me so far, after all." She is welcome to lean on him as he certainly likes having her close. "I can't say the view from the bath would be as nice--although I'd love to have you while the stars surround us."

"I'll tell you a secret." She lowers her voice, "I've always been a little scared of flying."

She will fly when she needs to, it's the best way to get places, but it still makes her a little nervous.

"Maybe somewhere more stable?" She turns her head to look up at him.

Leaning in, Loki kissed her softly and sweetly. Trying to reassure her, comfort her. Holding it, then speaking against her mouth. "Good thing we cleaned this place fully, then."
