"It's all your fault." She strokes his cheek. "Realizing I have secret skills."

"For once this is blame I will happily accept." Leaning into her touch, moving to kiss her palm.

So long as they could stay together and keep touching each other, he was contented enough. It was a rare feeling.

They've earned this little break, a bit of peace and downtime to cuddle and be affectionate.

"I keep trying to remember my dream from the other day, it feels significant."

Loki hmm'd to himself in thought for a few moments. "I could try and help you remember, but I don't know that it will work. Dreams are tricky things, and if this is the one you're talking about from our time in Urðarbrunnr, then it may well be the kind of thing we're not meant to remember except as needed."

"I was actually going to ask, since you can see my memories, maybe it's hidden there."

It's probably dangerous, but she has let him into her memories before, and now she trusts him even more to be careful.

"This is...not something I would do without giving it more thought, Christine. But if you ask me, I'll do it." Making sure she knew the gravity of the request. "Dreams already are wispy memories at best."

If it were a normal dream, it would still be tricky but he'd do it without hesitation. But if this was the dream she'd had when all 3 of them had sought the Norns... Then likely there was wyrd magic involved, and the danger level went higher.

"I know it's a big thing to ask you. And I'm only doing so because I trust you completely."

She brushes her nose to his. To let him in so much is both dangerous and reckless and she can practically hear Stephen saying as much.

Loki nods, and kisses her quickly. Moving to lean his forehead against hers, one hand coming up to hold her cheek. Focusing his magic carefully as she drew him past her shields. Going back through the memories of the past few days--things she'd seen in the battle, overheard but was unconscious while at Nidavellir. (Thor had almost perished, holding open the forge so that his weapon could be finished.) Their own portal-journey from Niflheim, their battle with the trolls and the test. Reliving how cold it had been and the emotions through that fraught encounter.

To that night as they'd wandered the woods and finally made camp. There they were, cuddled in front of the fire. He trying to keep her warm as he could---but all that came when he sought for the memory were images of the stars. All the stars, in strange configurations, as if the trees hadn't blocked their view.

She can see her memories as he goes through them and it is a very odd sensation.

That was the dream, she recognized the stars but there was nothing there. Nothing but the warm emotions it seemed to stir from her. Something beautiful and bittersweet had happened.

It was rather amazing, watching the memories again, for just how much one noticed but didn't realize they picked up on. It was like watching a movie over again and finding things you didn't notice before because you were focused on something else.

I'm sorry Sweetling. He legit felt sad that he hadn't been able to do this for her. He was unhappy simply because she was. Unconsciously projecting and not entirely aware of it.

We weren't meant to remember

She let's him ease out of her shields as she replaces them.

"The stars looked different though." Now that she had seen what little of the dream remained. "Did those constellations mean anything to you?"

"Many of them were new to me. But some...some were the same as could be seen over Asgard." Loki had a theory as to why, and just what those constellations were. But he wasn't sure he was ready to share, even with her, just yet.

[drpalmer]

"I can remember how it felt." She nuzzles against him, "it made me happy and a bit sad. But greatful."

It makes some sense that she would retain the emotions far stronger than the memories.

It did make sense--and oddly matched some of what he felt afterwards. Something of significance had happened in that dream--all three had experienced it. But just what, they were clearly not meant to know. Which was frustrating to him, who often sought out secrets. But he was patient--it would come out with time no doubt.

Nuzzling her back, Loki moved to find her mouth with his. Kissing her softly, sweetly. There wasn't that pent up need for each other anymore, though there was still passion. This was more simply a desire for closeness, to touch and be touched, to taste and be tasted. To love on each other, and be loved upon.

At least they were sharing the same emotions. His kiss brings her back to the present and she returns it lazily. It is absolutely wonderful when they get the chance to just be together without distraction.

They both craved touch and intimacy.
