"These are for school. They've got graduation year, and what school you went to." She has two of them "I didn't get one for medical school but for high school and my bachelor's degree."
"Why didn't you get one for Medical School?" Loki asked, studying the jewelry. "I understand at one point in this culture, they were exchanged between lovers?"
"It was around the....late 60s? early 70s?" Loki tried to recall. "When that tradition was around. At least I seem to recall hearing about it then, when I was on Midgard briefly."
"I lost a bet." Loki murmured softly. "I hijacked a plane with a bomb in a bag, in exchange for money. They never did figure it out or catch me, since I jumped from the plain with a parachute once it was in the air, and Heimdall caught me with the bifrost."
Loki pulled away only slightly, before letting green shimmer over him. Much shorter hair, with sunglasses, and a smart black suit. It was distinctive and yet didn't stand out at all.
"I feel like I've heard that name but I don't remember where." She shrugs. "You should wear a bit of color in your suits more often, a bet a nice navy blue would make your eyes so bright."
Loki shrugged, and let the illusion fade. Although instead of going back to his usual green, black, and gold, he substituted navy blue. "Better?" With a fond smile for her.
"Not my mom's, since their marriage ended in a fairly unhappy divorce. But my grandma's. They were together their whole lives." And that's a much better relationship to include in their wedding.
"I think that sounds like a lovely way to honor your ancestors." It was sentiment--but Loki could allow sentiment on occasion. At least where Christine was involved, he would. She was aware of his layers and vulnerabilities in a way he allowed no one else to be.
"Perhaps it could be the focus of the hand fasting--anchoring the cords that get tied around our hands and bind us." After the exchange of swords, but during vows then.
"We already will, so I'm not terribly worried. I'm not very in touch with my jotunn roots." To put it nicely. They were already going to honor Frigga by holding it on her day. There were other ways, usually as part of the vows--at least on Midgard, to honor the gods.
"I know you didn't exactly have a lot of thought put into wedding ideas." She teases. Neither had she, really, but as a woman she certainly had some desires where weddings were concerned.
"I am pleased with all we've decided so far, though." Loki said quietly, reaching up to brush her cheek with his thumb. "And I am glad you are happy and excited. As is your mother, and Freyja is overjoyed in many ways. One would think SHE were considered goddess of marriage instead of mother."

She wants to find some ways to remember his parents since they've passed.
"I've at least heard of handfasting."

"You would think she's never seen a wedding before with how eager she is to help."
