Nor is he, which is part of how some of those 'myths' had happened.
"But think of the scandal it would cause in the community." This is not a deterrent to him, and blue-green eyes were glittering again with mischief. "But to write a proper paper, you'd have to repeat the experiment multiple times to gain proper data."
"I promise to not get too adventurous, if that's your concern." Although his hand went to his side, to the hole in his green shirt over where he'd been wounded. Checking with careful fingers to see how tender or not the area was still.
Still with that lazy grin. "We will have to move some of your furniture if we're going to be doing this. Be glad you have a huge New York apartment." She really shouldn't encourage him in any way...
"Can you magic my furniture out of the way, it's heavy."
Surgeons tend to have some need for adrenaline and Christine is no different. She needs to maintain some excitement in her life, be it holding beating hearts or fighting an actual god.
An eyebrow raised. "I doubt that, but yes. I can." A pause while he raised the wine-glass up, preparing to finish it. "Go drink your juice." Again with that nudging sensation; although it was a good idea.
"I might let you believe that." Loki called with a mocking laugh. Finishing his own glass of wine, before leaving the empty glass on the arm chair. Up on his feet, and gauging the space. Before moving the couch away and from them, out of their way, with a pushing gesture from his hands. No hints of visible magic. The same was repeated for any other furniture until they had a nice open space.
Haha, that's all the poking he was going to be doing today. It's neat to watch her furnature slide out of the way with such ease. Magic looks really convenient.
"Good. You're supposed to." Loki said, a hint of approval in his tone. "So what do you know?" How far back to basics was he going to have to go? The irony was not lost, that he--who was definitely not a warrior--would be teaching her basic defensive combat. It amused him.
"Too obvious a target usually." Loki commented. "Let's see how you do."
He wasn't nice. But Loki did warn her at times. Practicing a move with her until she performed it flawlessly. Sticking to basics, but being sure to teach her the dirty-tricks too. She wasn't any danger to him, and was more likely a danger to herself performing something wrong. So he struck hard enough she'd feel it but not hurt, and only cushioned her fall when taking her down to the ground enough to not hurt her. None of this was about hurting one's partner. He paid close attention for when she did seem hurt, and adapted his force accordingly.
Humans were so fragile.
Breaks as needed, for food or to catch one's breath. But otherwise he lost count of how many times they'd ended up in a tangle of arms and legs. Or gone to the ground, attempting to pin one another. It probably wasn't a good idea, but it did help relieve some of the tension from her revelation. Gave his mind something to focus on while working on the puzzle that was her. Loki was also attributing any other tension that he noticed, to the fact that he was technically still injured.
By the time they were done, both were a sweaty mess and in need of a shower and change of clothes. Which might prove a problem for him.
It was hard work, tiring. But Christine kept herself in good shape so she was able to catch up.
He had definitely ended up on top of her several times, which was distracting in it's own way. He was a better teacher than she would have expected, making sure she did moves well and safely.
She's still flopped on the floor when they've finished, her top clinging to her sweaty body.
At some point, Loki recognized he had mentally put her in a category of his. His what yet, he didn't know--but the possessiveness was there. Which meant he didn't want to hurt or break her. Not unless necessary. It bothered him how quickly that had happened, but he could puzzle that over later too.
It had been distracting, especially given their recent banter. But that didn't mean he was going to let that take away his focus. Hedonist he might be, but when he wanted something badly enough he could be extremely driven and focused.
"Then you should get up and walk around. Before you stiffen up." Merciless. "And we might have one problem with my taking you to dinner. We're both a mess, but unlike you, I don't have any other clothes to change into." They'd just been wrestling in close quarters, with her in a tank-top and shorts... Loki did wonder what she'd look like all cleaned up and in a very nice dress.
"Maybe I'm comfortable." She mutters, though she does a little stretch before getting up off the floor.
"I might have an oversize teeshirt that can fit you, and you can make it look better?" She offers. She's not going to offer to share the shower, even if it might be a tempting idea.
"If you were comfortable, then I wasn't doing a good job." Loki said with an eyebrow raise, and said nothing else as she got up. "It'll have to do, and I planned to illusion whatever I wore anyways."
A sly grin lit on his face, Loki went into a courtly bow. "Now, my lady, would you like the shower first, or are we sharing?" Apparently it was back to teasing time.
She has gotten up and stalks over to him. She very lightly touches his cheek with her hand, it is intentionally very flirtatious. And just as quickly it's gone and she's walking down the hall,
"I'll go first." Not satisfied with just a little tease, she tugs her shirt off on the way to give him just a tiny glimpse of bare back before she dissappears into the bathroom.
"I did catch you staring the other day, as well." He teased back; turnabout was fair play. "Besides, the myths do talk about how I like wine and company, correct?" Usually they specified women, but Loki had been with a few men as well.
If nothing else, Loki was certain of one thing. To his mind and way of thinking, she was his to play with.
Another win, in his mind. There isn't much he can do until the shower is free, other than snoop lightly. By which he meant, go and browse her books in the guest bedroom. Mostly because that interested him more than any of the other rooms. For all their teasing banter, Loki honestly hadn't made up his mind about whether he wanted to sleep with her or not.
She was attractive--more so because of her spirit and mind. Quick witted herself, he'd enjoyed conversation with her since they'd met before. Especially since, for all that he could read, she really was simply that genuine a person. Why not take advantage of her company, especially if she was willing to give it so freely.

There is a hint of something under her amusement, like she might actually be curious about what it would be like to have him.
"But you're injured, I wouldn't want to pop your stitches."
no subject
No, he was fairly confident he'd be fine.

"As your doctor, I do think you still need rest."

"Besides, if we're going to get physical, I'd rather start teaching you defense."
no subject
As if she could take him in a fight. It's still way more entertaining to act as if she could.

She really, really shouldn't encourage Loki to come at her with a dagger.

She's had to use that once, it was very effective. She crosses back into the livingroom.

She doesn't bother with a response as she tucks into the bathroom before he hears water running.
