"If you were comfortable, then I wasn't doing a good job." Loki said with an eyebrow raise, and said nothing else as she got up. "It'll have to do, and I planned to illusion whatever I wore anyways."
A sly grin lit on his face, Loki went into a courtly bow. "Now, my lady, would you like the shower first, or are we sharing?" Apparently it was back to teasing time.
She has gotten up and stalks over to him. She very lightly touches his cheek with her hand, it is intentionally very flirtatious. And just as quickly it's gone and she's walking down the hall,
"I'll go first." Not satisfied with just a little tease, she tugs her shirt off on the way to give him just a tiny glimpse of bare back before she dissappears into the bathroom.
"I did catch you staring the other day, as well." He teased back; turnabout was fair play. "Besides, the myths do talk about how I like wine and company, correct?" Usually they specified women, but Loki had been with a few men as well.
If nothing else, Loki was certain of one thing. To his mind and way of thinking, she was his to play with.
Another win, in his mind. There isn't much he can do until the shower is free, other than snoop lightly. By which he meant, go and browse her books in the guest bedroom. Mostly because that interested him more than any of the other rooms. For all their teasing banter, Loki honestly hadn't made up his mind about whether he wanted to sleep with her or not.
She was attractive--more so because of her spirit and mind. Quick witted herself, he'd enjoyed conversation with her since they'd met before. Especially since, for all that he could read, she really was simply that genuine a person. Why not take advantage of her company, especially if she was willing to give it so freely.
Christine has a habit of getting worked up after a work out. That added to all the teasing had her slipping a hand between her legs in the shower. If she was quick enough he probably wouldn't have any reason to suspect anything.
She also wasn't sure if she actually wanted to sleep with him, maybe a good fantasy would be enough to get the idea out of her head.
It was part of what Tricksters did--they pushed boundaries, and toppled things on their head. Of course, even if it were a 'huge' New York apartment, it wasn't that big. Not when he was down the hall, having pulled out her copy of the Hitchhiker's guide. It was hard to hear at first with the running water, but Loki looked up with the faint sounds.
An eyebrow raised, before a sly smile came to him. Chuckling softly to himself while he read. Definitely a victory for him.
And he'd already found her towels too. Marking his place, the book was left on the bed as Loki got up and sauntered towards the bathroom. Aside from the obvious holes where he was stabbed, the only true casualty of his clothes was the shirt. His trousers were hardier, matching the padded jacket he'd worn under his armor. "I will still need that shirt." There was little he could do about it all, so he was grateful they were hardier. Considering their activities so far, and his misadventure already.
It's not long though before Christine will hear the shower running once more.
He did take only slightly longer than she did, but that was because he was enjoying the warmth of the shower. A bath would've been even nicer, and might happen later. It did feel good to be properly clean too. Not just the sketchy wash he'd had to get dried blood off of himself.
Of course, he has no bathrobe to wear while moving down the hallway. So it's with a towel around his waist, carrying his clothing, that he returns to the guest room. Loki takes one look at the sloth, and snorts softly in amusement. Perhaps it was a form of revenge-teasing?
In any case, he's quick to dry and change. Then looking at himself, and with a shift of his shoulders, greenish-yellow magic shimmers over him. Completing the drying process, and changing the outfit into a very nice and tailored suit. A deep charcoal grey, with white shirt and complimenting tie. Loki had also taken the opportunity to go back to his disguise from the day before. Reddish-blond hair that was just long enough to start having a hint of curl, with deep brown eyes, and an artfully scruffy beard.
Moving to her room, he's knocking politely. Making it a personal goal to be on his better manners--it would get to her more.
"The point, is that *I* was never here. Which means not being myself." Loki pointed out reasonably. "Hence why Eric Nordson is going to take you to a nice dinner, as thanks for saving his life." There's a playful wink and hint of grin, while offering her his arm. "I deal in rare antiquities and secrets. Requires a lot of traveling and often dangerous."
"That's because the best lies often have some element of truth to them, Dr. Palmer." Loki teased, moving to escort her like a proper gentleman. "Ready to go? Will you be warm enough?"
He's a good height for that, and she gets a small, but genuine smile. The Norns had indeed smiled on his misadventure it seemed.
Out of the apartment they went, and to the streets To the corner of the block, sharp eyes-watching and studying everything. Before giving her hand a small pat and disengaging. So he could step up and hail a taxi. Just enough magic and suggestion to get one for them fairly easily, and then he's playing the gentleman and helping her in.
Sure to meet the driver's eyes while speaking, as he continues his mental nudging. The address he gives is definitely on the higher end, uptown.
It's not her mind so it's actually more interesting than anything. In the back of the cab she stays close to him, they may as well make it look like a proper date afterall.
Loki does not object to this at all. As much as the cab driver is a New Yorker--and they were stubborn--he's had some practice at this form of mental manipulation. Especially recently, given what had brought him back. He wanted to leave no trail, just half-remembered stories at worst. Which meant no digital or electronic or paper trails...
"Careful Doctor, I might start to think you like me." He teased, leaning his head closer to hers so he could whisper it.
"I suppose it does qualify." Which means he only adds to it by leaning up to nuzzle her hairline at her forehead. "And I've certainly had far worse company before."
She was learning just part of why he could be so dangerous--he could be charming. Without any mental manipulation at all. None of the heroes had ever seen this side, so how would they have known?
"Certainly best compared to what I had." Which had been none before. Spoken against her forehead, breath moving against her hair.
As cozy as it is, they are nearing their destination.
"Daniel's." The Chef, Daniel Boulud's flagship French restaurant. Jackets required, and very pricey. "I've actually been in the city a few times before now, unnoticed. Did some scouting." More truth--but not enough to actually tell her anything. But that Loki had confided at all spoke to a certain amount of willingness to trust her. Or it could be that he didn't think she could use the information in any way against him. Odds were good on both options.

She had given him a solid once over, and he does look quite nice shirtless.
She doesn't bother with a response as she tucks into the bathroom before he hears water running.

She's not long in the shower and when she comes out she's wearing a robe and has her hear wrapped up in a towel.
"The shower is free." She calls as she heads to her bedroom.

When he comes out and goes to the guest room there will be a shirt sitting on the bed. Does it have a picture of a cute sloth on it? Yes, it does.

She didn't expect the knock, but she has cleaned up pretty well.
So when she pulls open the door she gives him a once over. "I prefer your actual hair."
But he does look good in a suit.

She gives his hand a light little squeeze.
"Where are we going anyway?"
