Loki was reaching for her, pulling her close and tucking her under his chin. "We'll make sure it won't happen again, Sweetling. I promise you." Radiating protection and shared pain across their link, and that love he was still unaware of.
"Take as long as you need, before I call for Ingrid. I want you back safe in our rooms."
She is welcome to cry as long as she needs to. Loki simply held her, stroking her shoulder and radiating protection. When she seemed calmer, and moved to wipe her face, he let magic wash over them both--cleaning them up, making them presentable.
"There's a button for you to do so on the arm of your bed. She shouldn't be far, as she was concerned of you like we were."
"I am glad you are awake my friend." Ingrid greets with a smile. "We were worried, as I have no healing magics to help close wounds." Reaching out her hand to Christine's shoulder. "And though our people are still not greatly numbered, it is not everyone who has the King waiting for her to wake up."
A look to Loki, and there's a hint of amusement in Ingrid's eyes. "Your Highness, you are in charge of her again?" To which Loki nodded.
"You're delightful company, so if he's sick of you then that's his bad taste." Ingrid responding, chuckling when Loki just raised an eyebrow at her. "No offense intended your Highness." She managed to murmur.
"We're in front of an invalid, so I'll let it slide this time." Loki wasn't sure whether he was amused or annoyed. Some combination of both--but she was Christine's friend and their chief healer, which meant she was safe enough for now.
"Let me check her wound, and then if she's good, I'll relinquish her to your care."
Ingrid is very intuitive, and is well aware that her friend is close. She thinks it's a good change, she's been observing in the Prince. Certainly her friend has blossomed thanks to knowing him. "You flatter me, Christine. You've been very helpful and a true friend to our people." Gently examining the head wound, she nods. "And a marvel as a healer. Let me get you unhooked from the IV. I recommend you take it easy today anyways, but a good cleaning and good food will help you do the rest."
She spoke as she worked, then produced Christine's clothing (her armor having already been taken and removed), and ushered herself and Loki away to let her change. They didn't go far, although their conversation was quiet. Not in any majorly secretive way, more in just a private manner.
Ingrid looks mildly offended, while Loki just chuckles. "Not all. I was swearing her to secrecy about corpse-handling when I bring in the gutted bodies of those who took you." That had Ingrid looking at him a little worried, before he chuckled. It wasn't entirely reassuring...
"Go, feel better still my friend, ja? Take care of yourself so you can help others."
"He won't bring you any corpses, promise." Christine rolls her eyes. Most people don't even realize Loki can joke, though there's usually distinct possibility he's not joking at all.
"I will, I'll take it slow for a few days. Thank you for your help."
"Of course. You're quite welcome and if you need anything, you just ask." Ingrid moved to clasp Christine's hands, then headed back to what she'd been working on.
Loki fell into step with Christine, still looking slightly amused.
Plotting things. We can't take direct action, but I can't let this stand.
Slower is alright, and Loki is alert to her and to their surroundings. It won't be long until they're back in his rooms, with the door locked and warded.
"What I might be able to get away with that won't spark a war." She'd likely know if he was lying. So better to give her some information. "We can't take any action that might prove their grievances legitimate. It's why SHIELD had to rescue you." Which still left a bitter taste for him.
"You're tired though. You need to relax." Taking his frustrations out on her would not be productive or justified and he knew it and cared about it.
"It's.....I'm........." Loki sighed, following her. "I'm not sure how to express it all, when I know you're likely to view this as your fault. You already apologized for it, and cried, Christine." Here was one of the biggest changes for him--Loki cared about whether he hurt her.
That bruise on her face is only a reminder to him that he failed, and she suffered. "It was not your fault." Loki shot back, amazed that he still sounded so calm. "They deliberately exploited a weakness of yours, after somehow infiltrating places we thought were safe."

"I believe Ingrid will want to verify you're all healed up." Twining their fingers.

"I'm sure she will." Christine weakly squeezes his hand. "I'm sorry about all this. I got told someone was hurt, of course I went to help."

She feels bad enough having used a bunch of resources for her rescue. One she shouldn't have needed.
Her eyes are tearing up before she can help it. She's never cried in front of him.

Her breathing regains a normal rhythm and she wipes her face with her hand.
"Okay. We can call Ingrid."

She nods and hits the little button as Loki returns to a respectable distance from her.
Ingrid isn't far and looks quite relieved to see Christine is awake.

Christine and Ingrid are fairly close as they work together quite a lot.
"I'm sure the prince is getting sick of me by now."

"Ingrid is wonderful, and she's very intuitive." Christine gives the other healer's hand a little squeeze.
Christine will soon be cleared to return to Loki's care.

Christine is able to get dressed without assistance. Luckily having been given comfortable clothing.
"You talking about me?" She jokes as she pokes back around.

She's a bit slower than normal on their walk back, but she is steady on her feet and the path is familar.

The bruise on her face has only deepened.
"Don't hold back from expressing whatever it is you want."
