"Winning was not the goal." Then he's tilting his head to watch her. "Briefly, but it was never serious. Even more so than my usual casualness. Personally I believe she ever had eyes for Thor, though she did not recognize it at the time."
"I never harbored any illusion she might." Loki said with a soft chuckle. "And I agree with you. I think it's part of why she's been spending more time here. Especially since Asgard itself is no more."
"As long as it's not a double date. They might be figuring things out on their own, however." Loki had caught hints of certain things. A look, here or there. A lot of time spent in each other's company. "All that might be is for them to decide it's official."
"I'm aware." Loki said quietly, somewhat dry in tone. "I suspect if they didn't, they wouldn't have done what they did as a way of not just stopping me, but trying to help." One more kiss on the forehead, then he's moving out of the tub. Helping her up, and using the simple expedient of magic to get dry, as much as he wouldn't mind snuggling her with a towel.
Leaning down just for a moment, he kissed her. In appreciation and thanks for her understanding and patience. Just enough--for him to know how he felt. "You, are getting in bed. Would you like to steal another of my shirts, or something else?"
"Go get in bed, I'll bring you one." Against her own mouth, with one more kiss. Reluctantly parting, before heading for his closet. Soon enough he joined her again, with dark forest green lounge slacks of his own, and handing her one of his looser shirts. Asgardian in style, with a high neck, it tied along the side, with an asymmetrical hem and long sleeves. It was also very, very soft.
On her it is more like a dress, but that's okay. Reaching up to stroke her cheek, brush her hair back. "It's made in the Asgardian style, but actually from Vanaheim. We're receiving some trade goods from them." It's not home, but it's close to.
"I'm sure I could recreate them, if I wanted." Encouraging her to shift with him, so that she could be cuddled under the blankets. Comfy as she wanted. "Anything else you want, to help you sleep, Christine?"
"That might require me to move, and I don't think you want me to let you go." Loki shifted only slightly, while keeping her curled up. "I can do better though." She still hadn't actually heard him sing--her times with the group of revelers had gone towards storytelling more than drinking songs. So now, Loki sang to her softly. Lullabys, old hymns, whatever came to mind.

"I can safely say from the warnings I got about you that she doesn't harbor any of those feelings for you."

"Your shirts are comfortable. I think that's what I want."

"Oh, this feels really nice." She slips it on and does up the little ties. The fabric feels wonderful on her skin.

"I'd let you borrow some of my clothes, but they wouldn't fit you in this form."

She's surprised to hear him sing and it shows in the link, followed by a sense of calm.
It only takes a few songs before she is asleep in his arms.
