Puck was used to seeing other Oberon's Children switch forms at seemingly blink and you'll miss it levels of speed at times. He was also trying to sort out what the relationship he had going on with Loki qualified as before giving a shrug. It didn't entirely need a label, but Puck understood that others struggled with that idea and other things. Love could be complex.

As he held the door open for Loki, Puck smiled. "I was going to cuddle you regardless, but whatever is most comfortable for you, obviously." Once she was inside, Puck closed the door.

"So. Let's get this frog handled first-- Does my wanting to protect you bother you, and do I need to modify that goal to be anything else so you're comfortable?"
