There's a tiny smirk, and satisfaction on his face. "Again, we'll have to reevaluate our friendship." But he's not complaining at all. "You do need to rest though, Christine. This is hardly helping." Especially not when he's leaning up to nuzzle and kiss her forehead.
Another nuzzle and kiss against her forehead. "I will stay, but not in your bed. I'll be nearby though." Holding her tighter, hugging her and taking comfort from her being there.
Soft laughter puffed against her hair and forehead. "Yes and no." Which was all he'd say about it. Holding the hug, holding her tightly. With Loki it was often as much what he DIDN'T say as what he said or how he said it.
"Far be it from me to damage your ego, especially in your exhausted state." Loki teased, leaning down for a much lighter kiss. Affection in this one, comfort for her. (And for him.)
"Did you think you were to sleep on the daybed your entire stay? It does get chilly in winter, even with the heavy curtains blocking the windows." Loki teased, as they headed back to the main area, then he started leading her up the few steps and through a different archway. With curtains that were closed, so she hadn't been able to see in before.
This was clearly the bedroom part of the guest room. A fireplace was set against one wall, bearing logs and ready to be ignited when needed. Bookshelves along another wall, which is part of why Loki had chosen this room for her. The bed was easily large enough for 2, if not 3 people, and sumptuously made. A folded fur blanket was nearby on a padded bench. There was an arm chair not far from the bookshelves, with more of those candle-lamps against the wall. And a table next to the bed, with a bell on it in place of a bell pull. Not far from the fireplace was a wooden dresser as well for clothing.
When the curtains were closed, as they had been, it would be a very cozy little room.
"Get yourself settled." Loki murmured, though it wasn't an order this time. One more squeeze of their joined hands, and he let hers go. Striding over to the fireplace, and a small tossing motion of his hand with some magic brought flames to the logs within.
"Anything else, before I settle in to keep you company?"
"Soon, Christine." Loki promised, both admiring the bared skin and also not looking at her in a rude way. Striding back to the arm chair and bookcase, before moving to select one of the titles. "You'll have to settle for me reading to you."
"I am. It's not being wrapped up in blankets with you, but it'll have to do." With a teasing wink. "This is a collection of stories Mother used to tell us when we were young."
Eventually Christine had fallen asleep while Loki read to her. He'd put the book on the table for her, made sure she had what she might need if she woke up, and then left. Not without summoning Erna though; orders for her, or Ylfa, to be nearby at all times. To alert him when Christine woke.
She was welcome to sleep for as long as she wanted and needed.
She sleeps until mid-morning before she wakes. She has a brief moment of uncertainty before she remembers where she is. She stretches and gets out of bed to see if Loki is still nearby or if he left.
