"Not all the time, but when I can--yes." Nuzzling her hair. "It is an indulgence I sorely miss when its presence is lacking."

"My bathroom at the apartment originally had this really tiny tub shower combination, I got the whole room redone for a proper soaking tub."

It's one of her favorite indulgences as well, and she found the price of renovation was worth it.

"It's a good thing it's a 'huge' New York Apartment then, isn't it?" He teased, pressing a kiss to her forehead.

"It is, thank you." She chuckles. Of course her place pales in comparison to growing up in a literal palace.

"I should take you to a rental or two so you can see how small places can be."

Many things pale in comparison to growing up in a palace. But Loki had also survived on his own with only his wits for a year in some of the most unkind and nastier places of the universe. While trying to process all the hurt and pain that had come from the days prior.

It meant he no longer took luxuries for granted.

"I might actually enjoy that." There's mischief in the tone. "We could pretend to be a happy couple looking for a new place together." She did know he enjoyed playing gallant lover.

It's probably good she's found him after he's had some struggles.

"We play a happy couple very well." Since there might be some truth to his gallant lover act.

"We do, and it is far more enjoyable than when I've played it with others." Moving to trail his fingers along her hip and belly. "What other plans would you have for this evening, Sweetling? Or are we to sleep in the tub?"

"I'm a world-class fake girlfriend, it's true."

She tilts her head to kiss his neck.

"Well, the water is getting cool, we should go to bed."

He tilted his head back, to let her have more access. "We could always be naughty and just refill it." Now Loki let his hand splay possessively at her hip. "And I mean this as a compliment--but I doubt you're a world-class 'fake' at anything, Christine."

[drpalmer]

The possesive grasp is sexy, and makes her sigh a bit.

"I can fake some things. Or at least I've been able to in the past."

Like orgasms, and being sympathetic when people do something stupid to themselves.

"But would you be able to fool me?" With an eyebrow raise and a smug tone. "God of Mischief, remember?"

[drpalmer]

"Probably not." Unfortunately she can't hide much of anything from him.

"But you don't do sentiment, which I imagine includes being a happy couple. So I'm just playing along with you."

That made him chuckle, and nuzzle her forehead. Shifting to hold her close, especially so she couldn't see his eyes. I....do some sentiment. I just don't let it rule me or get in the way of what I have to do.There's a pause, and some amusement with the next statement. I AM known as a liar...

Part of why she wants to be stronger is so she doesn't need to get in his way. She doesn't want to be stuck in a situation where he needs to choose his mission or her.

She's hugged tighter for a moment, in thanks and acknowledgement. "...given how new this is to me, I'm not sure if I can lie when I speak to you in your mind." It was something he'd be learning though--not because he planned to need to lie to her, but because it was a potential weakness.

"Still, if you're getting cold we can either refill the tub, or move to the bed."

"So I should ask you important questions right to your mind." She gives his arms a little squeeze.

"Let's go to bed, I enjoy laying with you."

"Until I learn how to lie mind-to-mind, yes." But I shall try not to lie to you.

It's easy enough to drain the tub, and then they're untangling from each other just enough to get to the bed. Before once more he's curling himself around her, wrapping himself around her as much as possible. Content to just lay there and hold her or ready for more--she is so lovely when she shatters in climax...

She nods. Soon enough they are wrapped up with one another in bed.

"I have a question." Which could always be a worrisome start to a conversation. "You said once your skin can turn blue. Can I see?"

"It's...only happened when exposed to extreme cold. Apparently whatever enchantment was laid on me when I came to Asgard is a very strong one, and I've found no need to break it."

She nods.

"I didn't know if it was something you were controlling or not." Christine is stroking his hair, his cheek; she's just going to single-handedly make up for years of him not getting affection.

She's doing a very good job, and he loves it.

Considering for a moment, before she'll feel a wash of magic over him. An illusion, but of what he'd look like as a Jotunn. Blue skin, the angles of his face are more pronounced, and with red eyes. "I do not claim it, but my actual last name is Laufeyson. I'm the rightful king of Jotunheim."

The eyes are the most surprising bit, but she doesn't look offended or appalled by him. Instead gentle fingers trace over the angles of blue skin.

"It's a really beautiful shade of blue. Though I will admit the eyes surprised me more than I expected."

"Still, we're the monsters, among others, of children's bedtime stories." There's a sigh, and he'll lean into her touch. "I...did not know I was adopted. Until 6 years ago."

[drpalmer]

"Children are scared of basically everything they don't understand."

She doesn't see a monster, probably because she knows him.

"That's a very long time for you to not know. I can imagine finding out was a shock."

Another time, I'll tell you.

"Until then, while I'd always felt different, and been different, I had no idea why." He could be a monster, had done monstrous things. But had also started trying to move past it, to atone.
