Tilting his head, and removing his sunglasses so he met her gaze and blinked at her curiously. "Honestly? No. You're one of the few people I actually WANT to give a gift to." A pause, and a hint of smile. "Besides, the whole concept of gifts other than food and drink being shared is new. One leaves little carvings, along with offerings of food and drink, against the evergreens for the forest spirits. Even Odin, as Old Man Winter, only brings gifts for children traditionally. The whole point of the celebrations are supposed to be celebrating light in the darkness and renewal."

"I like gift giving when I have someone I care about."

She reaches to caress his face.

"I'll make sure to bring you wine as well."

It was almost instinctive at this point, to lean in to her touch and caress. "I've very rarely had someone I wanted to give gifts to. Usually if I do want to, I don't just wait for certain occasions. I'll just do it." As she had experienced herself quite a few times over now.

"I have noticed that." With the thoughtful little gifts he's sent her.

It's just natural to touch and be touched. Before him she had never been quite so tactile.

"They've all been really lovely gifts, by the way."

She was making up for centuries of lack of affectionate touch outside of his childhood. "I've not exactly been subtle, have I?" He asked with a small smile. "I've tried to be more personal with them, too."

"Not really." She nuzzles him. "You're very romantic, it's a very pleasant surprise."

"I'm using roles to guide me, as this is...new. Or rather, I've never actually cared beyond the façade and superficiality of the role." Loki murmured, kissing her hair. "It is no less genuine on my part though, the desire to express complicated emotions that show you how I feel."

"I've gotten you to actually care." And that makes her turn to kiss him. There is something very romantic about being the first person he's loved in this way.

"You have quite a range of feeling where I'm concerned."

The kiss is sweet, and he returns it with affection. Soft, brushing lips against lips, gentle passion and care in the action. When it's broken, he leans his forehead against hers, keeping his eyes closed. "I do, and I am used to complicated feelings."

"You are a wonderful, complicated creature."

She appreciates all of his complexity and the intricate nature of his feelings.

"I love so much when you let me in your shields."

"Before you, no one has been in them with my permission and aid." Loki moved to kiss her again. Still soft, sweet. Just enjoying her.

"I am always honored by it." She adds a mental caress along with the kiss.

So much has changed since she met him, she wouldn't have imagined becoming a sorceress who loves a god.

He's changed to, in ways he recognizes and ways he hasn't seen yet. It had been a chance meeting, and yet it lead to so much more. And as the norns had said, the pair had tied their threads together by their own actions.

It was a lingering kiss, for all that it was soft with gentle passion. Most certainly a lover's kiss... One of contentment as well, and happiness.

"Shall we start heading back?" Spoken against her mouth, in a lazy tone and with no hurry.

They've bonded themselves but it does feel like fate played some hand in bringing them together.

"We probably should." She brushes her nose to his with a loving little smile.

It wasn't unlikely the Norns had woven their threads to intersect--to cross paths. But trying to figure out free-will vs. fate was always a fraught endeavor. Especially as Loki preferred free-will, and to write his own story. He'd already had many private musings over this very question, and while the Norns had implied they'd orchestrated the meeting of he and Christine... They also had made it clear the two had tied themselves together through their own actions. As with anything, perhaps in another universe--it could've gone differently.

One last little sweet kiss, and a reluctant sigh, before they pulled apart. "With the sun you'll be dry in no time." Loki said, while moving to grab his casual slacks. He'd been dry for some time now after the swim, and would start untacking their sails.

Their meeting might not have been entirely free-will, but their falling in love had been entirely their own. They had chosen to spend time together and to bond and grow.

She laughs and moves to help with the sails and the anchor.

Between them, it's not long at all before they're cruising and sailing back towards their little dock. Soon enough they're set near the pier. Then while Christine moves to tie up and shore up the boat's rope to the dock, Loki moved to tack the sails once more. Once the boat was secured and they were walking back to their bungalow, Loki made sure to take her hand, twining their fingers.

"So how will we spend our evening, Sweetling. We aren't so out to nowhere that we couldn't go 'out' for dinner. Whether we take the boat or one of your portals."

"We could go to any resturant in the world." She agrees, walking along with him.

"Anything you're in the mood for? We could pop over to Paris for French food." They've not used the portals for fun nearly as much as they could.

"Much of it is still new to me, Sweetling." Loki murmured, squeezing their joined hands. "We could head to London, check out the area around the sanctum so we know what we'll be getting into?"

Not that a London in winter would be that pleasant, but it would make coming back to the tropics that much sweeter.

She chuckles. "We would need to charm ourselves some warm clothes."

But it would be good to get an idea of the neighborhood.

"I seem to recall you like it when I help you play dress-up." Loki teased, as he could easily handle that.

She nods and laughs.

"As long as you don't opt for a ballgown, I don't think it would be the most comfortable for London in winter."

"No ballgowns. It would hardly suit the occasion." He was already pondering outfits based on what he knew of the climate. And other questions... "Would...you want Eric for the date?" Because if he was going to live in London, it wouldn't be unreasonable for him to start establishing his presence now. But he also had already lived in secret for 4 years, and found it wasn't something he was eager to return to.

She tugs him towards her and kisses his cheek.

"Only if you would be more comfortable as Eric. I person prefer Loki, but Eric is pretty nice. And when you aren't in your armor and horns you don't look quite as noticeable."

Loki gave a slow blink, and smiled at her. Affectionately and grateful. "Perhaps I'll start work on 'retiring' Eric then, while on this trip. It won't be too hard."
