"I didn't know if you just stopped at adulthood."

Though thinking about it, it does seem like a stupid question.

"You accent sounds English, which is not what I would have expected."

"What would you have expected?" He hadn't noticed, honestly. It made sense, given he was speaking English however. "Jeg tviler på at du forstår norsk."

"An accent that I couldn't place at all?"

She grins and chuckles.

"Yeah, or that."

[whose_son_am_i]

"Vi kan ikke akkurat føre en samtale på denne måten." He's grinning too. "It would make communication more difficult."

[drpalmer]

"Just a tiny bit."

It sounds good though, whatever it is he's saying.

"How many languages do you know?"

[whose_son_am_i]

"A few." Bringing his glass up for a drink. "Not as many as I'd like, and many are changing all the time. The accent is likely because it's common. It is also called English." A bit of teasing there.

"It's a better accent than American English, just surprising."

She's finishing off the food for the second course.

"I'm conversational in French and a bit of Spanish. And I know a good bit of Latin."

"We could have a conversation in Latin."

"Colloquium habere potuimus latine." He said, with a bit of a smug grin. "Any of the Latin-based languages I've picked up are because I speak Latin."

"I'm better at reading it."

"Im 'magis ad eam legere"

That smugness is returned in kind. Challenging him could become a favorite pastime.

"Makes sense, given your job." "What else would you like to do?"

"Quod tantum facit sensu, quam vobis dedit" With a little soft laugh, amused. This was part of why she was enjoyable--she rose to challenges, and was fun. "Quid aliud vis facere?"

"with you or in general?"

The teasing, flirting way is back in full force.

"vel in generali apud vos?"

"Both. "I'm open to most anything."

"Utrumque. Ego maxime aperta ad quidquid velis." Myths had painted him with a silver tongue. Christine was finding out just why and how true that was.

"that could be a very dangerous offering."

"Periculosum esse in holocaustum"

She would make a dirty joke about the silver tongue.

"How many people have you seduced to get what you want?"

"I'm a very dangerous man."

"Sum periculo viri valde." At her question, he raised an eyebrow. "Do you really want to know?" In truth, he'd kind of lost count.

"I'm noticing that." He could so easily win over just about anyone he wants to.

"Morbid curiosity."

[whose_son_am_i]

"I've lost count." It's murmured softly, all hint of teasing gone.

[drpalmer]

She nods.

"That's honestly not surprising."

There's a moment of seriousness from her as well.

"Just don't do that to me, okay? For fun, because you want to, but not to manipulate me."

Loki considered that for a moment. Before reaching out for her hand, thumb brushing her skin. "You're already giving me what I want. I have no need to manipulate you." But he nodded, agreeing to her terms.

She thinks her terms are reasonable and she's glad he agrees.

"What am I giving you?" She strokes his fingers with her own.

"Noen som er virkelig snill, å dele tid med." With a little squeeze of her hand. "Besides, you're intelligent. I'm sure you can figure it out."

Of course he wouldn't be direct in a way that she understands, she shakes her head, amused. She does get the idea though.

"I'm glad you suggested dinner." It's giving her a really good glimpse into who he is.

"Better than my being in your debt further." But it's said with a wink, as the teasing is back. He was enjoying it too.

They did still have dessert, if wanted. The waitstaff was approaching to ask just that question.

"Wouldn't want that."

Christine knows he is genuinely enjoying this. He might be a trickster, but it's obvious he's having fun.

"Do you want dessert?" She could go either way on the matter.

"I did confess to a mild sweet tooth." With a soft smile. Then the waiter is listing off their choices... For him, it's a choice between the cherry-and-vanilla angel food cake, or the sweet biscuit with nuts and caramel...

They have a cheesecake. She needs to order that.

"For research."
