"I was thinking more that it's the gentlemanly thing to do." A pause. "I'd probably attract more attention as a horse anyway." He was finding he didn't need more attention at the moment, than what he had. "Do you have a preference?"
"If you'd like to ride me, I will happily oblige." That lazy grin was back, smug too. He did enjoy their teasing of each other; and knew exactly what he was implying.
Loki bent slightly, enough to make it easy for her to get her arms around his neck. Once she was secure, it was no trouble at all to pick her up. She was not heavy, and he was also abnormally strong.
"I admit, with your predilection for a love story, I thought you'd prefer to be carried princess style."
She practically hops up onto him, arms around his neck, legs around his waist. She can't stop laughing, they must look absolutely ridiculous walking down the street.
"This is way more fun." She can whisper right into his ear.
"Is that a challenge, milady?" He can feel her speak as well as hear her, and does not mind at all. Arms keeping her legs secure, Loki goes back to walking. A reasonable pace, but she's kept steady where he's carrying her.
"The feeling is entirely mutual." Her breath against it is certainly pleasant. She hadn't understood--as he'd intended, but he had answered her question. About whether he wanted to woo her.
"About whether I enjoy challenging you? No." Loki chuckled, and she could feel it easily in his chest and back. "As I mentioned before, you actually treat me reasonably. You're also quick witted, playful, and intelligent." All things he responded well with and looked for in companionship, temporary or not. "I've played many social roles, but not all of them are as enjoyable as this one."
Positive touch and affection was something Loki was practically starved for. It had only been recently that he'd been getting any form of it, before meeting her. It was one reason among a few that he responded well to her.
"Now where's the fun in that?" She is let down to the floor. Just enough to get her balance; before he's sliding an arm under her shoulder. Bending enough to get his other arm under her legs, and quite literally sweeping her up.
"Who said I ever stopped?" With an eyebrow raise. "This was a date, and needs to be convincing." But he's not letting her down; not on the walk, in the elevator, or the walk to her door.
"And fun." With a wink. Once they're inside, Loki pauses; with a shimmer of magic changing his appearance back to his usual blue-green eyes and black hair. The nice suit remains, as he's in no hurry to change it back to its usual look. Also pausing to see what she'd like to do now...
His eyes remained closed, and she's shifted just that tiny bit closer. "You're worried I'll hurt you. That you're nothing more than a game." Said softly, sincerely. Opening his eyes to meet her own, Loki was quiet a moment.
Before making a decision. "...I don't trust easily. And I shouldn't be trusted. I can't see the future." Making sure she understood. "But I have no desire to hurt you. You are a rare being, Christine--in that you are genuinely kind. You open yourself to being hurt again and again, but you haven't let it sour you or taint you."

She will probably step on glass.

"Will you be my noble steed?"

And the connotations of that will probably please him. In the city a woman being carried piggyback won't even turn a head.

She's very tempted to kiss that little sliver of skin right behind his ear.

Maybe he did.

She wouldn't believe him if he did say he was trying to woo her. She's got little to offer besides kindness.

"My building is just at the end of this block."

He doesn't bristle at the kiss which she takes as a good sign. He seems very comfortable with her touching him.
"I can walk to the elevator. So we look a little less insane."

"Now you're playing romantic." She's not been swept off her feet in ages.

"Much better." The eyes are better too. "You really are dangerous."
With how quickly she wants to drag him to bed, it's alarm.

Her hand moves to his cheek, caressing the angles of his face.

She nods as he speaks and there is a little smile on her lips, she can tell he's being honest.
She stands a bit taller and leans in to press a tiny, light kiss to his lips.
