I mentioned you-- but not by name, to the woman hosting the upcoming Valentine's tea party as a tester for fruit pies in Autumn. I would have offered, but I have too much of a bias towards sweet things and sweet gods of mischief I know.

Ah, Mistress Vex, as she likes to shorten her name to? I'm not sure I'd be a good tester either, considering I have yet to meet a fruit pie I dislike.

It doesn't mean we can't be good critics necessarily though.

A fair point. I'll have to tone down my "It's my favorite, so that makes it automatically good" mindset and be as partial as I can manage.

It does mean that we know both what we like, but also what a thing is SUPPOSED to be. So we can tell how different or varying say, an apple pie is, done by baker A versus by baker B.
