Christine is able to let go of her tension and relax in the tub for a little while, letting go of the emotions she had been holding on to.

She's welcome to take as long as she wants. It's not long before Loki is back with food, and setting it out on the table. Truly, New York's variety was amazing. A hearty beef stew, with a still warm loaf of bread. Accompanying side of roasted potatoes and veggies--it had reminded him of meals on Asgard from its description, so he hoped Christine would find it comforting too. Dessert had been included--a fruit and honey based pastry; there had been no cheesecake to order.

A quick spell to keep everything warm, and then he was settling at the computer again. Pulling up a spreadsheet and program to calculate time differentials and distance between jump points.

It isn't too long after he's set out the food that she makes her way back out into the living room. She's wearing the robe from New Asgard and carrying an empty wine glass.

"It smells good."

"It seemed a good choice from its descriptions, so let's hope it lives up to that and the smell." Closing the laptop, Loki got to his feet. "Feeling better? If not, I'm certain I can think of a few ways for you to let out some tension and we cause a little mischief."

"Do they involve stabbing things?"

She moves to fill her wine glass again.

"If I'm going to take a leave from work, I might need some help convincing companies that I don't need to pay my bills."

"I'm sure that can be arranged." Moving to pull her chair out for her, it also gave him an excuse to brush his hands against her shoulders in comfort. "While not everything I've ferreted out has been useful to my purposes, I've still found out things I can turn to my advantage. Including things to sell for large sums of money. Let me know the expenses and I'll see what I can do."

"I've got enough savings for some time, but I still want to minimize what I can."

She leans into his touch again, as always.

"I guess in all your sneaky missions you must find some good things."

"I'm willing to put in the work to find the good things, so to speak." Squeezing her shoulder affectionately, before moving to take his seat. "That's also part of Eric's 'official' job-listings. As much as I dislike the notion that I have to work, I'm at least able to do work I enjoy. I can't speak much more on it as you don't want to know. I'm certain SHIELD is already trying to figure out just where I've left fingerprints."

"You realize I do, actually want to know?"

She takes her seat and watches him. She's had some level of darkness to herself though she doesn't act on it.

"I'm not scared of your darkness."

"I don't actually blackmail people, but I've sold secrets that others do not wish to be found out about. I've also done some IT-related black-ops work for a government or two. I've also acted as 'consultant' on security for businesses." SO yes, he had been busy. "This is how I know where and when a little applied chaos is most beneficial."

She arches a brow at how much work he's been doing, but she looks amused.

"Honestly? Absolutely none of that surprises me."

And none of it is really that 'bad' per say. It operates in a moral gray area, but that doesn't bother her.

A brow of his own arches. "I don't like being bored, basically. Besides, there is little more I can adjust on the Commodore while on planet, and that has freed up some time." A portion of funds from what he worked on 'officially' went into a sort of trust/treasury for New Asgard's prosperity. The unofficial stuff went straight into a few bank accounts of his own, including one for Eric Nordson. Who was a security consultant and Norse artifact expert officially.

"If you couldn't tell, I don't do well with bordom either." It's how she's able to learn magic while working a demanding job.

"You're incredibly smart, it would be a waste if you weren't busy."

"I seem to recall you once trying to convince me you're boring." Loki grinned at her, and saluted her with his wine glass.

"I'm a bit boring, I just don't want to be bored."

She salutes him back.

"What areas of magic should I focus in? I think it would be good to first work on skills that compliment yours."

"I'd say you're calming, not boring." At least that was how Loki viewed it. "I'd start with your healing spells, but also perhaps defensive magic. You're already working on shields and have a head start on that, but learning to ward and create shields will serve you well, if you're trying to heal on the battlefield. Illusions would most definitely suit you well also."

Taking a drink of his wine, and pondering for a moment. "As much as I do like the hints of bloodthirst you've shown, you do not strike me as a fighter primarily. By which I mean one to rush into the heat of battle looking to cause more harm and mayhem. Which is why I think you should focus on healing and on making it hard to target you or hurt you or others."

"You're right, I think I'd do better as support. You've got enough fighter for both of us."

If she can help to protect him, that can give an additional advantage to his fighting.

"I should have a few tricks for causing damage if I need them, but mostly healing and defense."

"Oh I agree that you should. It's another reason to teach you to throw daggers as well as wield them up close. Especially since you've also learned how...what's the Midgardian term...Telekinesis?" Loki thought that was right. "Like when you pulled your bag to you, or how I've moved your furniture before. I've used that to add extra power to my daggers before as needed."

"And here I was imagining you picking up and carrying around my furniture."

It's a joke.

"I can do more than I expected and sometimes it surprises me."

"Oh I already did that. It was the easiest way to rearrange things." With a wry grin. "I wonder sometimes at your talents just going to waste or never having been discovered. It's a sad thought."

"I would have never known what I was missing out on."

It is a bit of a sad thought, never finding her talents were more than just medical.

"Your individual world would've been a bit safer, however." Reaching out to take her hand, thumb brushing her skin. "But I don't think you regret taking a step into a larger world."

She shakes her head no.

"If anything it's very exciting to have the potential to help more people."

"I will warn you, healing without aids--but focusing on raw energy, will take raw power too. The same for shielding--these things work best with a focus, as there's less drain on the caster." A squeeze of her hand. "But I've already emailed Ingrid. She plans to seek out any healers who used magic as well as the more 'mundane' so to speak. We're also having to adapt to not having the resources we used to, which will likely lead to new innovations."

She nods. "Only draw raw energy in an emergency."

Christine is happy to hear that Ingrid is helping out.

"If they need Midgardian supplies, I can help and also teach them to use them."
