"As if I needed any more ego than I already have." Loki chuckled. "It is an interesting medium and I both love and hate it."

"It's a bit of a weird combination of theories about you."

"Sounds like you've been researching me." Loki said with a sly smile.

"Might have. I wanted to see what I was getting into."

Most of her research had been done after that first weekend together.

"And yet it didn't scare you off." Loki's eyes gleamed with amusement and pride.

"Mostly curious about your snake child."

And the horse, and wolf? There were many strange children.

Loki chuckled. "I've not met any giantesses that I know of either, and have no children as of yet." Taking another drink of wine before he continued. "Honestly I seem to be sort of a catch-all for all kinds of weird misadventures. I will confirm that I know Idunn, who does indeed have absolutely delicious golden apples. But she moved to Vanaheim a few centuries back, so I don't know if she's taken her crop there or simply moved on to something else."

"You'd make a great snake mother."

She is enjoying the food, the stew is rich and comforting.

"Father. In that myth I'm the father. It's with the horse, I'm the mother, Sweetling." Loki corrected with amusement. "And I am glad you're feeling better. Even if it's not the night we had planned, it has been an interesting one."

"Right, sorry. Snake father, horse mother."

She reaches to take his hand for a moment to give it a little squeeze.

"Did you google me?"

Christine has published papers, some with Stephen, and there are a few photos of the two at events.

"Y'know, I think I won't tell you. More fun that way." Loki smirked, before bringing her hand up to kiss.

"I'll be disappointed if you didn't. I have written some lovely papers."

She smiles at that little kiss, the fondness flowing that always seems to accompany being with him.

"So telepathic communicate isn't common, apparently."

"I would've been surprised if it was, on Midgard. There are races and beings in the wider universe that use it regularly though. I would definitely make sure you have strong shields before we go to space."

"And yet you never used it?" She knows her shields will need to be very strong overall.

I think I'm going to get a talk about strengthening my shields from Stephen as well.

"I've had it used on me. It was...unpleasant." Loki's eyes narrowed, but not in annoyance at her. "I've categorized what I do with you to be different."

"What would you say it is then? I know it seems to feel stronger the more time we're together."

"I honestly am not sure." Loki was telling the truth as well on that. It was on his list to research.

"Aw, are we special?" She teases, taking a sip of her wine.

We are. YOU are. With a mental caress as well as another kiss to her hand.

That caress feels wonderful and she returns it in kind.

"I might never let you leave."

If she can finally master portals, she wouldn't have to.

"I admit, I haven't been as fond of anyone's company as I am of yours before." A wry smile, still with his lips against her knuckles. "Perhaps I should worry about being charmed, not you."

"If I've managed to charm you, everyone should be very worried about my power."

Given how strong his mental shields are, it really would be an impressive accomplishment.

"Don't think the possibility hasn't occurred to me." Loki squeezed her hand. "It has, as has the fact that I am apparently okay with it. While it may be possible, it does not seem likely however." Because he could be paranoid at times. "No, there may be something else going on, I just haven't figured out what."

"Maybe you actually just really like me?"

In case that possibility hasn't occured to him.
