"You go to find the Breadth of Grace and his birthright. Your threads are twined and woven together by your own actions."
"That sounds great and all, but how are we getting..." Loki started, as the three where raising their arms again, to sweep them out in a gesture. "...back."
"Welcome to Niflheim, Trickster and Healer. You'll find your way." Echoed in their minds. At least they'd been kind enough to leave Christine in a warm coat and a fur cloak.
"...my birthright should be in Jotunheim, and yet we're here." Loki murmured, very not happy. Trust the Norns to speak in riddles.
"Alright, so, do you know anything about Niflheim, Sweetling? We can walk and talk, and probably should keep moving." Worry was being projected unconsciously along their link.
It's worry for her; if he's reverting to how he looks as a frost-giant (which he is), then it is colder than cold. "Niflheim is one of the oldest realms, along with Muspelheim, the realm of fire. It's primordial cold, mist, ice...and when combined with Muspelheim's fire it forms water from which Midgard is created. A part of it is also where the dead who do not go to Valhalla fall, and where Father imprisoned Hela. We'd know if we were in that part, I think."
"To find whatever the Breadth of Grace is, and some birthright of mine--from what they said." Loki reached up and ran a hand through his hair, nervously. "We need a guide, I think...I'm just not sure how we find one."
Loki stopped and turned to her, cupping her face and looking at her seriously. "Sweetling, if? Mine to protect, remember?" Of course he'd keep her safe! There's a vague sense of hurt along their link that she'd even doubt...
It's a sign of how worried he must really be, that it had shaken him at all. Calming some with her touch, taking a deep breath. Unconsciously projecting again--that worry and care and affection, and under it all a love for her. That he wasn't even aware of.
"I know that...logically." He failed at sounding sulky, however. "What do I do to help?" He didn't like this plan, but Loki didn't have a better one.
"With the temperature, just make sure I don't freeze." She doesn't stop touching him, or sending a bit of calm through their link. They were together, they would be okay.
"It'll only take me a few minutes and I'll be able to map out where we are."
The limpness should worry him, but....he trusts her. Being sure her hood is secure, Loki bundles her up more before shifting to hold her in his arms. Moving to a nearby rock and he settles into guard over her.
Even on the astral plane, it's hard to get a good reading as this place is all ice-rime and mist. They seem to be not far from a cave system connected to a mountain. It seems both some distance away and far too close that there is a darker area clearly blocked off and bordered--helheim.
He laughs somewhat bitterly. "I know what you're doing, but I hope never to see you lifeless again." It had shaken him, even while he knew that wasn't what was going on. "Which way to the caves. If nothing else, we can take shelter and try and plan our next move. Not that he was making any move to put her down.
Careful of her hood, Loki kissed her forehead, and nodded. It was easy enough to carry her and if it helped her stay warm, so much the better. It wasn't a long walk compared to some he'd taken, and once they were inside it was....still.
Putting her down reluctantly, Loki holds up a hand and summons a small greenish-gold flame. It lights up things a bit.
Unfortunately it also disturbs the other residents in the gave--they'd seemed to be large stones before, but now that there was a light disturbing them, they started to move. Large and bulky, with red eyes of their own in squat faces.
"Trolls!" Loki said and spat a curse, casting his mage flame higher and making it bigger so that they could see better. It left him with both hands free to summon his daggers.
She sees the movement before anything else. The things are big and about to come towards them. She's summoned her dagger to her right hand and made a magical shield with her left.
This is her first real fight, and her adrenaline is coursing through her veins.
"Their hides are tough as stone. You'll need to focus on weak points where the skin is softer. Or outright vulnerable like the eyes." This was not going to be easy--there were 5 of them, and all were bigger than either Loki or Christine in both height and muscle. "Do NOT let them grab you, Christine."
Close your eyes for two heartbeats It was not a nudge, but it was a very strong suggestion as Christine would also be sent the kernel of idea Loki had. He was going to make things brighter--much brighter for a moment.
Which he did by expanding that mage-fire over into multiple growing bursts in a second--lighting up the place rapidly and hopefully blinding the trolls. Who were blinking and looked confused. Especially since there were multiple Lokis now.

"So you sent Thor to where he was needed. What of us?"
Christine is only hopeful that her and Loki won't be separated as well.

Already Loki's skin was starting to turn blue.

Christine feels the cold and wraps the fur around her tighter. She watches in fascination as Loki's skin changes.
"I guess we're on our own now."

She feels that worry and it concerns her. He doesn't often worry.

"It's an ice world used as a prision. That is an encouraging place to be stuck. Any idea why they would have sent us here?"

At least she would be able to get a sense of where they are beyond just surrounded by ice and snow.

She sends apologies and love back, she hadn't meant to suggest he wouldn't.

In astral form she can fly so she goes straight up to get a wide picture of the area before doing a quick bit of scouting.

It's no more than five minutes before she returns to her body and hugs him in reply.
"The dark hell-place is to the West. North of us are some caves that might lead to somewhere."

It was a needed trip she had taken but she still feels bad about it.
"Just towards that mountain." She points.

Cold, and quiet, and echo-y, but still.

"Can you light it?" She asks when they finally make it in the cave.

She closes her eyes when instucted, behind her lids she can see the burst of brightness.
Her eyes open and she doesn't miss the chance to throw a dagger towards the eye of one troll, she her blade is pushed forward with intention.
