"But you don't like, hear prayers."

She understands why people would think him a god, especially back at the dawn of human civilization.

"I'm not Heimdall, so no." Oh it made sense to him as well why they'd been mistaken for gods. Compared to the humans, in many ways, they were.

"You'd hear mine."

She finally moves off of him, laying next to him an arm wrapping around his waist.

it actually makes him sad, when she moves off of him. He was savoring their connection. Loki turns though, to still be close. Moving to stroke her hair and cheek lovingly. "I would. But you have a connection others don't."

"I don't think I mention enough how much I enjoy our mental connection."

It is a little sad, but also, more comfortable for her.

"Oh I can tell you do. And while it should scare me, I enjoy it as well." Leaning in to kiss her sweetly, softly. "I think I've told you I haven't had this kind of connection with anyone else."

"You wouldn't let just anyone in your head. And I had no idea I could in the first place."

She meets his kiss and brushes back his hair.

"I wonder why it works so well between us though."

"That I do not know." Another kiss, and he's sighing with contentment and leaning into her touch. This was so nice--just lounging on the beach, letting the sun warm their bodies. "It...I feel like we'll find out in time, but we're not meant to know completely." Like a half-remembered dream.

"Something about destiny or whatever."

Which isn't something she would have ever believed in if it didn't seem to have such a big impact in her life right now.

"Would you want me to live longer if I could?"

"I would. But it would depend on how that could be achieved. I would want you to have youth and good health to go with it." Nuzzling her.

"Really? You'd want to keep me even longer?"

For some reason that's a surprise, like she expected him to appreciate the shortness of her lifespan.

"Is that so surprising, my Christine?" Loki raised an eyebrow, before kissing her again. Sweet, but intimate and tasting. Communicating with out words just why he wanted to keep her.

"A little." She smiles against his lips. "Didn't think you'd want a long commitment."

Her human life won't be long for him.

It was true, her human life wouldn't be long for him. And even an extended life might not be long. "Things may change eventually. But as it is I'm quite taken with you, as you should know." Murmured against her lips and cheek and jaw. Nuzzling her throat, and up to her ear. "As you've said, my heart is very selective--and yet you've become part of it."

"You're a part of mine as well."

She was happy to have whatever time she could with him. It was surprising enough to have the heart of an Asgardian.

"At this point I'd hope I am." Loki murmured, shifting and moving to where he could kiss over her heart. Nuzzling her neck and collarbone too. "Are we to spend our whole afternoon here, my Sweetling?" Because he wouldn't mind; she was far too tempting.

"We aren't. I'm getting hungry." She was eager to find out what sort of food the kitchen was stocked with.

A fair request, even if Loki was still enjoying her right then. Kissing his way back up to her lips, before reluctantly pulling away. Moving to get to his feet, and pulling her up with him, before gesturing--conjuring their clothes. Passing her her own, as he started to slip into his again. "I believe we have whatever the locals usually have in their dishes here, so I'm not sure. Delivery is, also, not really an option."

"I'm sure we will be fine." She quickly tugs her shirt and pants on before going into the actual bungalow.

"Worst case I can make us a little grocery store portal."

"True. But I doubt it'll come to that." Christine should be happy, Loki hadn't bothered to button up the white linen shirt. "The hardest part is likely cooking it all, but I suspect between us we'll be fine."

Inside the bungalow was nice. Most of their sitting space was open to the elements, with the bedroom on one side, with en-suite bath and shower and a patio that opened directly out to the area with the hammock. On the other side of the sitting area was an enclosed kitchen and dining area. The sitting area could be blocked off by light curtains, as needed, but was designed to be hardy for the weather. It even had a small firepit in the middle of it.

There is never a time where she doesn't appreciate a little skin.

"Do you know how to cook?" She doesn't imagine it was something he's done a lot of, being a prince and all.

The inside of the bungalow is just as nice as the outside, so much of it is open to the breezes, and the sound of the waves.

"A bit. I had to learn." And not under the best of circumstances. But it wouldn't be too hard to figure out, likely. It was one of those things he needed to be able to adapt to.

She had said tropical paradise get-a-way. Loki had done his best to find such. The bungalow had a decent stock of wines as well.

"We have a good selection of fruit." She picks up a mango to cut into pieces for them.

"We can cook together, it'll be a bonding experience."

"As if we don't have enough of those." Loki murmured, while letting his mind briefly caress hers. Mostly he was learning the layout of their bungalow, and setting up small alert and misdirection wards. Precautions, but they made him feel more secure.

"I was going to say, but this bonding is with knives; but that is a lot of our usual."

She is grinning ear to ear. They play with knives together a lot.

"Do you want me to add a few wards as well?"
