Labyrinthum Specific: Loki has gained full telepathy as an ability proper, so much like with his mental magic it is "Opt-in" as I assume the default is no for using this with characters.

Please Note about Negative CR
Loki is not a 'nice' character by default. He can be charming, and likeable, but he is traditionally an antagonist. Even though I usually play him starting a redemption and trying to be better than he was, he can still be petty, jealous, mean, and a major jerk. He can make characters cry or feel horrible about themselves. He can and will be manipulative at times in multiple ways and variations.

This should NEVER spill over to the player behind the character though. I do my best to try and keep IC and OOC separate, so please talk with me. If you're unsure, please talk with me. If you're having major stress in RL and not sure if RP will bleed over? Please talk with me. I get all of these and understand, and would like us to talk with each other respectfully and kindly. This witch in training is full of surprises. Never a dull moment with Luz, who lights up anything she puts her mind and heart to. A tendency to overdoing it sometimes, its because she just cares so very much. More capable than she realizes, she still hides some of her true talent. A wonderful friend, talented young witch and artist, and definite force to be reckoned with. (Also if you hurt her you'll have no shortage of people making you regret it.)

Misa

"Stubborn. But one has to be when they're such a talented healer. Stubborn enough to get through to their patients, and stubborn to keep doing it when all odds say they shouldn't. Misa deserves someone to care for her though, just as much as she cares for others. (Teeko is a good companion, but still only a lothcat.) More than just a healer, she is learning who she wants to be besides her role. A wonderful friend, still waters run deep with her. Treat her well, because even if she won't make you regret not doing so--she has friends who will."

*Puck has a dual role as Owen Burnette--a human bodyguard/executive admin/aide d'camp usually. This dual identity is not widely known though, so please check with Puck's mun before assuming you know that they're one-and-the-same.

The Cottage at this point is quite a luxurious cottage, though nowhere near so compared to some others. It's in the Cottage District, and has a lovely well-maintained garden out back. It's kept in good shape, with solid wood and bronze and rich colors and warm elegance. Inside is furnished well with solid well-crafted pieces that are comfy and subtly luxurious and long lasting. It has full running water and full utilities.

It has a Main Room, a Kitchen (with attached potion-set up), Fireplace and Hearth, Library, and Dining room as public rooms. There is a craft storage room under Misa's care. Misa, Puck, and Chise all have their own bedrooms. Loki has a Master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. There is one extra bedroom open and available. There are 2 open bathrooms, as well as the one in the master bedroom.

House Trick or Treat also bears subtle bind-runes around the house inside and out. These ensure that no one can teleport into the house from the outside.

This amazing lady is as deadly as they come but with a heart of gold. Thoughtful of word and speech, her tongue is no less sharp than her sword or dagger so be careful. The most beautiful rose still has thorns, and that holds true for Gamora as well. Well-worth the effort to become her friend however, as she's kinder than one would think, upright in her values, and keeps her compassionate side close. Were she a valkyrie, she would bring them great honor in deed and word.

Loki is very new to this whole gift-giving thing, in terms of actually receiving gifts that aren't just social obligations. He's not used to being appreciated for who he is really.

That said, everyone he has CR with will receive a small Yule goat ornament. Just placed somewhere in their house that's findable but not terribly obvious. No note, not labels, just there.

He has formed some ties with a few that he considers gifts for. Kaiba, Puck, Gamora, Night Sky, and Klaus will all receive a nice woolen coat (example one, two, three, four, and five or cloak in PC color choice. Webby and Eilonwy will receive small carved bindrunes of their names; bindrune examples here. (The blue-tooth symbol is a bindrune for example.)

Alice will receive a very nice tea set.

Puck will also get a nicely hand-written 'play' of the interaction that he and Loki had under the mistletoe.

What Did Your Character Wish For? To not die at Thanos' hand. To not have that be the end.

Character Questions:
1. Who is the person your character is most bonded with from their canon? Or who is someone they miss the most?
His adoptive mother Frigga. This Loki hasn’t learned that he, indirectly, caused her death--and will be devastated when he learns. They had fought when they last talked, but Frigga clearly loved him as her son (adopted or not). Loki learned all he knows of magic from her--as she wanted him to shine and not be in his brother or father's shadows all the time. He shows tangible upset and grief at learning of her death, and helps Thor get revenge. Thor even speculates that he can't trust Loki, and Loki responds by telling him to trust his rage.

His next closest bond--although complicated--is with his adopted brother Thor. The two grew up together, but Loki was ever in his brother's shadow. He was jealous, and also believed Thor was not worthy of the throne given how the other behaved before being humbled and sent to Earth. He has fought with his brother, often in very deadly ways. Their relationship is strained over 5 years after Thor's banishment to Earth and Return. But on Sakaar, and after the destruction of Asgard, the two seemed to be starting to mend their bond.

2. What are they most afraid of? Being alone and unloved. Loki grew up in the shadow of his older brother and felt different his whole life. He found out he was adopted however in probably the worst ways possible. He sought to make his father proud of him--to be accepted and loved. He reacts to the rejection and disappointment badly. Hurting and lashing out, afraid to be hurt further so he rejects people before they can hurt him again. While posing as Odin he has a statue put up and a play about him and his life (and death). These are signs that he wants to be loved and accepted. When Odin actually states that he is proud of his 'sons'--Loki is visibly surprised by this. He did help rescue his people from Hela, and also tried to stop Thanos, even reassuring Thor that his ‘betrayal’ was not real. He wants to be loved most and accepted most by those who matter to him. To 'belong' essentially.

3. What is their weakness? Emotionally, mentally and physically? Emotionally--Loki's weakness is his pride and jealousy. Mentally--it's that he has an inferiority complex compared to his Father and Brother. He also just wants to be accepted for who he is. Physically--in game it will be that he's brought down to human-levels, but otherwise he can be bested by a superior combatant and/or a being stronger than him. Especially if it's a group of them. (The Avengers, Hulk, Valkyrie, Thanos.)

4. What would make them happiest? To never have brought the tesseract from Asgard? To go back and help Thor and perhaps find a way to warn the Midgardians what's coming, having seen what they can do? Perhaps to 'make up for the way I failed' although that’d be an unconscious desire. Ultimately--to belong and be loved/accepted.

5. What’s their type for a lover? Lovers, at least for non-emotional definitions, are not hard--Loki is a hedonist and bisexual and I can't see him turning down a 'friends with benefits' or casual situation. I also could see him using sex to manipulate others as needed. He'd prefer them pretty/handsome too, and fond of a good time.

For an ACTUAL lover, aka someone he falls in love with? That would be complicated.

I could see him falling in love with someone who challenges him on all levels, who makes him be his truest self. Which he'd likely fight every step of the way, but ultimately it would be about the person accepting him and helping Loki accept himself. To be loved for who he is. We don't actually in canon SEE a true 'romance' with either the main-timeline Loki or his Variant in the series. (The great 'kiss' between the Variant!Loki and Sylvie always read to me more as a distraction, and a very 'loki' thing to do to distract someone.) I would take my cue from a recent Marvel comic where Scarlet Witch comes to Jotunheim to act as a champion for Loki's cousin Arkin, to challenge Loki for the Throne of Jotunheim. He accepts and the challenge is a contest of truth. During it, they find out how similar they are--and Scarlet Witch points out that, in another reality, they would likely be soulmates or close to. But that will not be in this reality because it would require Loki being his "truest self"--and that is something he can't do. He concedes defeat because she's right

So Loki's ideal partner/lover for a proper relationship would be someone who challenges and matches him, who accepts him for who he is--but also who gets him to accept himself fully. To BE his truest self, even if he shows it to no one else. That's my thinking, especially because his big fears are about being alone and unloved and unaccepted.

Personality:
Mercurial-moods (“It varies from moment to moment”-Loki, Thor:Ragnarok) Part of Loki’s nature is that his moods change quickly, sometimes from one extreme to another very quickly. Much of this is part of the act he puts on as well, to hide how he’s really feeling deep within. His 'default' seems to be to treat others with a casual arrogance that he's superior to them; which can then go either into amused territory or into angry territory. We also see him switch from easy conversation to sudden threats and anger rather quickly. His default is to seem sincere, charming and witty, but most often this is a mask that may hold more than just those traits.

Clever (see his various tricks and schemes) Loki is known as the God of Mischief, and a trickster. He uses illusions and misdirection against his enemies. My personal favorite is how he orchestrates the Avengers turning against each other, at least until he stabs Agent Coulson. (He hatches a plan that seems rather straightforward, lets himself get captured, and then the mind-game begins.) If he uses physical weapons, he favors a pair of short daggers; allowing him to hide them easily and spring them unprepared on the enemy.

Jealous (See his relationship with Thor) Loki is the perpetual younger brother, and growing up always felt that Odin and Frigga showed Thor more favor than himself. They were both raised as princes should be and with an expectation either could take the throne. Except that Thor was beloved by everyone and known as a hero, while Loki was often barely tolerated.

Conflicted (See his relationship with Thor and his family) Loki is very conflicted about many things, particularly as regards his family. He and Thor were brothers with genuine affection and love, though Loki was always jealous that Thor seemed to get the lion’s share of attention. When Loki is imprisoned, he talks with Frigga who has done her best to make him comfortable, but denies she is his mother; he is genuinely disappointed she has not come to visit him in person. With her death, he lets his anger and rage and distress show. His relationship with Odin is the most conflicted, as the man was his father--Loki was always seeking his approval. At the same time however, he never seemed to understand or realize what would truly make Odin proud and he doubted Odin could truly love him. This becomes especially true once Loki finds out he’s adopted, and is only resolved right before Odin’s death. The two brothers and father talk with each before Odin’s passing, as he makes it clear in saying “I love you my Sons.” One can easily see Loki’s conflicting emotions naked on his face with these words.

Lonely (He doesn’t feel like he fits in among others.) Loki has always felt different, as he doesn’t resemble his parents or brother. He also isn’t a warrior like Thor or his father, but rather is a magic user; something that was frowned upon compared to the honor of a warrior. He doesn’t seem to have any friends, as even Thor’s own friends just seem to tolerate him as a hanger-on. These feelings of loneliness are amplified when he finds out that he’s adopted, actually a frost-giant (the monster parents tell their children about) and was left to die if Odin hadn’t taken him in.

Complicated. (He’s got layers. Like an onion!) Loki has many traits besides these 6, which is why he’s complicated. He can be very charming and silver-tongued, as well as perceptive of others. Usually as a means of manipulating them for his own purposes. He can also be brooding and angry, feeling as though he never truly fit in and things that should be his were denied to him (such as his birthright to be king). He can lash out at others without seeming to care whom he hurts except for a select-few that he seems both to want to reach toward and push away from. He’s been through a lot of trauma in the last few years especially. Inadvertently causing the death of his mother, losing his father, then having to fight his sister to keep her from destroying him, Thor, and Asgard. Finally, destroying Asgard by reviving Surtur to stop Hela. Add to that the refugees of Asgard fleeing to space only to be found by Thanos, where half of them are killed. Loki has only recently started to learn to care about others, and mend his relationship with Thor, and then this threat he can’t stop or trick his way out of shows up. Loki is not a hero, and has often played the villain if not just an antagonist. But Thor hopes that maybe there is more, and near the end of his life Loki himself starts to be more.

Suitability & Plans:
I like the setting, and I feel as if Loki himself would be charmed and amused by a setting based on stories and dreams. (In the comics continuity, he actually becomes God of Stories too.) I feel he's been through a lot, and is starting to grow and change again, and am interested in him having a chance to explore that in an environment he's never been in before. Especially one that is responsive to him, as it will make him do some self-reflection that he might not otherwise do at times.

If possible, I'd love for him to get the full redemption arc that he started (before dying), such that he becomes an anti-hero. Closer to his role in myths where he often does start trouble, but will then also get himself and others OUT of trouble (whether of his own making or not).

I think some aspects will come very easily to Loki for fitting in; he's adaptable and charming. But other aspects will be more difficult--considering his volatile emotions and that this place reacts so strongly to emotion. I actually look forward to him having no castmates at current, as it gives him a chance to start anew. Yes, people may've heard of him, but he's not forced to automatically start on his back-foot making amends for the Battle of New York. That said, I also welcome castmates because again, I do want a redemption arc and for Loki to grow and change further from the villain he was.

I look forward to him having a wide variety of CR, and have no problem tagging out or tagging around. (That said, if someone prefers I don't tag them, I will of course respect that.) I look forward to a chance to explore and create the environment, but am also comfortable filling in the gaps. Loki is not a character who handles boredom well, so I will endeavor to make sure there is fun to be had for him and for other characters too. To that end, I might ask the Mods "Hey, I have this idea, is it okay?" to ensure I'm not at risk of breaking things, but otherwise I'm fairly independent and looking forward to bouncing off other characters as well.

The Rings of the Sacred Bond

Ten rings form this 'item', two sized for each finger on a hand. The true power of this item only comes when you give a ring to someone else. So long as you and they both wear a matching ring, you may touch the ring and cause a bond of power to form between you. Each of you gains a measure of the other's abilities, without losing any of your own. Strength, speed, endurance, even magical ability, make the two of you greater than the individuals alone. You may maintain this bond with five people at once; it does not tax you.

The only downside is that when the bond is active, everyone involved ends up in a magical girl outfit complete with miniskirt and high heels. Including you.

Loki also has a basic familiar, a 3ft-ish long snake named Einar. Einar is a deep dark green with yellow-gold underbelly. They regard each other warily, for the most part. Picture here.

General Powers:
Frost Giant Physiology- Loki is the biological son of the Jotunn (or Frost Giant) King Laufey. When exposed to extremely cold temperatures, Loki's skin will turn blue and his eyes red. He is also immune to cold effects. Loki also possesses abnormal strength, speed, agility, durability, stamina, reflexes, and a regenerative healing factor.

Master of Magic/Master Sorcerer- Frigga taught him Asgardian Sorcery, and Loki often uses it to his advantage since he is physically weaker than other Asgardians. Specific Abilities include Illusion Manipulation, Duplication Casting, Presence Concealment, Shapeshifting, Self-Teleportation, Telekinesis, Conjuration, and Mental Manipulation.

Name: Loki Laufeyson/Odinson (He has claimed ‘Odinson’, but is the birth-son of Laufey and never actively claimed that name.)

Age: 1,053. (Looks like he’s late 20s-mid-30s)

History: I’m just gonna drop a link here. It gets long.

Personality:
Mercurial-moods (“It varies from moment to moment”-Loki, Thor:Ragnarok) Part of Loki’s nature is that his moods change quickly, sometimes from one extreme to another very quickly. Much of this is part of the act he puts on as well, to hide how he’s really feeling deep within. His 'default' seems to be to treat others with a casual arrogance that he's superior to them; which can then go either into amused territory or into angry territory. We also see him switch from easy conversation to sudden threats and anger rather quickly. His default is to seem sincere, charming and witty, but most often this is a mask that may hold more than just those traits.

Clever (see his various tricks and schemes) Loki is known as the God of Mischief, and a trickster. He uses illusions and misdirection against his enemies. My personal favorite is how he orchestrates the Avengers turning against each other, at least until he stabs Agent Coulson. (He hatches a plan that seems rather straightforward, lets himself get captured, and then the mind-game begins.) If he uses physical weapons, he favors a pair of short daggers; allowing him to hide them easily and spring them unprepared on the enemy.

Jealous (See his relationship with Thor) Loki is the perpetual younger brother, and growing up always felt that Odin and Frigga showed Thor more favor than himself. They were both raised as princes should be and with an expectation either could take the throne. Except that Thor was beloved by everyone and known as a hero, while Loki was often barely tolerated.

Conflicted (See his relationship with Thor and his family) Loki is very conflicted about many things, particularly as regards his family. He and Thor were brothers with genuine affection and love, though Loki was always jealous that Thor seemed to get the lion’s share of attention. When Loki is imprisoned, he talks with Frigga who has done her best to make him comfortable, but denies she is his mother; he is genuinely disappointed she has not come to visit him in person. With her death, he lets his anger and rage and distress show. His relationship with Odin is the most conflicted, as the man was his father--Loki was always seeking his approval. At the same time however, he never seemed to understand or realize what would truly make Odin proud and he doubted Odin could truly love him. This becomes especially true once Loki finds out he’s adopted, and is only resolved right before Odin’s death. The two brothers and father talk with each before Odin’s passing, as he makes it clear in saying “I love you my Sons.” One can easily see Loki’s conflicting emotions naked on his face with these words.

Lonely (He doesn’t feel like he fits in among others.) Loki has always felt different, as he doesn’t resemble his parents or brother. He also isn’t a warrior like Thor or his father, but rather is a magic user; something that was frowned upon compared to the honor of a warrior. He doesn’t seem to have any friends, as even Thor’s own friends just seem to tolerate him as a hanger-on. These feelings of loneliness are amplified when he finds out that he’s adopted, actually a frost-giant (the monster parents tell their children about) and was left to die if Odin hadn’t taken him in.

Complicated. (He’s got layers. Like an onion!) Loki has many traits besides these 6, which is why he’s complicated. He can be very charming and silver-tongued, as well as perceptive of others. Usually as a means of manipulating them for his own purposes. He can also be brooding and angry, feeling as though he never truly fit in and things that should be his were denied to him (such as his birthright to be king). He can lash out at others without seeming to care whom he hurts except for a select-few that he seems both to want to reach toward and push away from. He’s been through a lot of trauma in the last few years especially. Inadvertently causing the death of his mother, losing his father, then having to fight his sister to keep her from destroying him, Thor, and Asgard. Finally, destroying Asgard by reviving Surtur to stop Hela. Add to that the refugees of Asgard fleeing to space only to be found by Thanos, where half of them are killed. Loki has only recently started to learn to care about others, and mend his relationship with Thor, and then this threat he can’t stop or trick his way out of shows up. Loki is not a hero, and has often played the villain if not just an antagonist. But Thor hopes that maybe there is more, and near the end of his life Loki himself starts to be more.

Always Keep In Mind: Loki is a classic trickster so the only side he’s ever truly on is his own; this doesn’t mean his goals can’t match others or conflict with others. He’s also only just now learning to look past his own self-interest and care about others--but he’s still arrogant and self-serving. He’s done horrible things before, and can and will do them again if he feels it’s necessary. He has a love-hate relationship regarding his family, that is only now starting to have a mended rift between him and Thor. Then he died traumatically--for real this time...

It would depend on if time moved forward while I am stuck here.

If your enemy was at Diatu Magicademy, how would you react?
I’m assuming killing or setting them on fire is off the table. I reserve the right to make their life as miserable as possible without either of those two options available to me.

When is it acceptable to resolve a dispute by force?
Whenever force is necessary. Presumably you expect an answer akin to ‘Never’. But it depends on the outcome sought. Sometimes that outcome makes it necessary to be clever and tricky. Sometimes that outcome requires force to be used.

What should the supreme goal of any wizard be?
Again, presuming you mean some answer like “to better his fellow man” or some such. The goal of a wizard should be to be in complete control of their powers, to be able to best use them to their advantage, for whatever goal they seek.

Special Considerations

Your Special Something: Item of Power is what Loki’d choose (and what I prefer rather than having to deal with a make-believe magical living creature besides my character.) That said, something that makes him have to work cooperatively with others would be amazing. (IF he has to have a familiar, then a snake or cat would be awesome. Or Mod's choice for what they feel would fit him best.)

Items: Please provide a brief description of items belonging to your character that could appear during the course of weird events or the like.

His horned helmet, or horned crown, from Asgard. If we’re going with the Loki Series Artifacts, Laevateinn would be fun. (This is the golden short sword of Kid!Loki, a variant. It has the ability to burst into fire along the blade.) It doesn’t belong to him, but if Mjolnir or the Tesseract show up, he’ll be shocked and confused. Gungnir (Odin’s spear) could also be fun.

Anything Else: I’ve enjoyed his transition in movies from antagonistic villain to antagonistic antihero and I’m hoping to continue that journey for him, to full anti-hero if possible. He’ll always be a trickster, but he’s maybe not so bad after all. I also fully plan to cooperate with the mod for any mischief I end up planning with him. Personally, I would love it if he ends up being the adult the kids (or anyone) go to when they need to do something stupid and dangerous, and probably against the rules. Because he'd help them do it SMARTLY--mostly as a point of pride, not because he cares.
