It had been a lovely night. It had been perfect unhealthy food, with good conversation as usual. Christine had done a good job of getting her revenge on him. Likewise, once they were pleasantly tired and winding down, Loki started to read to her from the book she'd bought him. Both just contented and at peace with each other's company.
It was a feeling Loki hadn't realized how much he'd missed. The morning was full of lazy kisses and reluctant-to-leave-cuddling. But she had work, and so did he even if his was from her kitchen table. She was sent off with more kisses, and a reminder that they had a meeting later. Then Loki got to work. First, emailing Ingrid and the healers back in New Asgard, to start putting out feelers for any familiar with magic and in particular healing magic. More email, some research online, some poking electronically where he probably shouldn't go... Definitely identifying one area where some applied-chaos now would prevent a larger mess later. (If it weren't a mess he'd likely be called in to clean up, he wouldn't care... )
That's not to say no breaks were taken, or he didn't get bored. Christine's apartment would remain in one piece. But her furniture got rearranged, and all her books got reorganized and re-shelved. Her bedroom remained untouched.
As it got closer to their arranged time with Strange though, Loki loaded up a flash-drive to bring with him, along with his phone and wallet. Shapeshifting to the familiar red-brown hair, and brown eyes, with a hint of scruff, of Eric Nordson. Casual black slacks and shoes, with a black blazer, and a green button up shirt. It set off the 'disguise' well, even if it was more like himself than Loki usually went with for this one. On a whim, he stopped by a florist--requesting a small bouquet. It wasn't part of their usual requests, but that was no trouble in his eyes.
Then it was off to Metro General. The main entrance, and information desk, where he asked after Dr. Christine Palmer. Signing in, then moving to wait with bouquet of Gardenia and Ferns. Watching everyone go by, and studying it all.
She had been a little reluctant to leave, but she needed to and eventually she did.
On shift she does a good job of being focused on work, she's always compartmentalized personal life and professional. Luckily the day was steady but not overwhelmingly busy.
When she is changed back into regular clothes she heads out to the exit. She's going to hear about the mystery man picking her up tomorrow.
"Hello, dear." She greets 'Eric' with a little kiss to the cheek. She's surprised more by the choice of flowers than by him holding a bouquet.
Loki, as Eric, greets her in turn with a brief kiss to her forehead. Before offering her the bouquet. Of course he wouldn't do the standard roses. There was actually meaning in what he'd chosen, though he wasn't sure if anyone else would pick up on it. "Good day?" He asked, offering her his arm.
If she was going to be asked about the mystery-man, best to give them a show.
"Normally I'd say quiet is a bad thing, but in your line of work..." Heading out with her as they started the walk to Bleecker street. "I sent an email with some feelers out to Ingrid, as a start, for you. I also poked around some interesting websites, and it's rather amazing what got lost in translation or managed to survive with some truth to it."
"I assure you, I cleaned up any messes I made." Which was quite a concession, but also his way of teasing her. "Besides, I like you. I don't want to be a rude houseguest."
Sometimes the key to mischief and chaos was enjoying the normal times before things went hectic again. This was one of those normal times. "Nothing that stands out, although I do recall us talking about standards of testing and cheesecake." Still teasing her.
He chuckled, grinning at her. "Seriously though, I defer once more to my native guide to the city. Whether we have dessert or not. Are you in the mood for going out, or staying in again?"
"Assuming I make it out in one piece then, that sounds good." He was fairly certain he'd be okay. Even if they were both temperamental and moody, he had information he was certain the Sorcerer wanted. Especially since it concerned the safety of Midgard and more.
"I'll try to keep any bickering about you to a minimum, Sweetling." Loki murmured, still amused. "I've also heard from Sif. Apparently I won't escape an interrogation after all. Which means I might do better to just surprise Stark with a visit myself."
"I'll be fine, Sweetling. I'm not worried about Stark." Or even about SHIELD. Her protectiveness touched him though, and was echoed back. Revenge for you as I get a lecture probably. Or would you rather I not show your prowess as a lover?
"I haven't had anyone who wanted to do that for me in a long time, Christine." But it means a lot, and hopefully she knows that. From his tone of voice to his brush of his mind against hers.
She'd feel Loki tense, as walking towards them was a person he had NOT expected to see. How was Coulson alive? The agent had a smile on his face as he moved to intercept them, looking for all purposes like he was greeting an old friend. "You didn't tell me you were in town. Good to see you again." Then to Christine. "I'm sorry, Dr. Palmer. But I need you both to come with me?"
"As much as I find this development intriguing, we had plans already, Agent Coulson." Loki's smile was all teeth and tone of voice razor sharp.
"Oh I'm sure you did. But those plans are being interrupted. Come with me calmly, and no one gets hurt."
"Phil Coulson, with SHIELD, Dr. Palmer. I'm sorry to interrupt your plans, but it's better this way." His manner never changed from affable, but there was still an edge to it. "Walk with me?" It was phrased as a question, but it wasn't.
Loki remained tense, eyes narrowed and studying the agent. Likely there were others around--possibly a sniper or two. Very likely the archer was among them, if it was known Loki was involved. He could simply veil his and Christine's appearance--and while that would make more trouble later, it wouldn't protect her.
And Loki was very protective of her.
Fortunately Christine's call for help also got an immediate response. A familiar portal opened, and Strange (in street clothes) stepped out. "If you were going to be late, I'd have preferred more notice." Strange said with only a hint of annoyance.
Ah, there were the red dots Loki had been expecting; some trained on himself, some on Strange. Neither looked particularly perturbed. If Coulson was surprised, he also didn't show it. "I'm sorry, Sir, this is a private matter."
"And that's my friend and student." Strange said with an edge to his voice. "I'm not letting her be hassled in front of me."
Coulson was quiet for a moment, listening to his earpiece. Then he nodded. "Alright sir, if you insist, then we need you to come with us too. If you'll all follow me?"

She takes his arm with a smile.
"Pretty good. No shootings, so overall rather quiet."

"Thank you. Is the apartment still intact?" She's sure it is, Loki likes her enough to not ruin her living space.

"Anything you want for dinner after our meeting?" It feels so pedestrian and normal, like they're a regular couple.

She's thinking of a few of her favorite places that she would like to take Loki to.

They're all adults, she's sure it will be fine, there may be some bickering but thats not a surprise.

She's never actually had anyone fight over her.
"What sort of an interrogation?"

I assure you, while Eric shows no bruises, I kept my word and will let Strange see your revenge once we're off the streets.

She's not sure how well her emotional projection works on others yet, but if Loki is being hurt, she will try.
Is that really revenge for me though? Or is it a bit more of you bragging about how great our sex is?
There is amusment that comes with it.

He may be a war criminal, but he's her war criminal.
You'll likely get a lecture either way.

She also projects a message to the sanctum that they're being taken. Hopefully whoever this is, doesn't realize Christine has been learning magic.
