"Well, first we're going to go over your grips and how to hold it. Remember, this is technically a spear." Loki beckoned her closer, before going over the very basics. Grips and stances, with basic moves. Then showing her some basic drills. All very beginner stuff, but necessary. Once she had the basics of the drills solo, then he had her run through them with him as partner, so she could get more practice as well as learn how to counter them.

"It also translates to sharp sticks."

She loves training with him, he's surprisingly patient with her when he's teaching and it's not long before she's moved on to countering him.

They did both slip occasionally, due to the sand. He tended to recover more quickly, but that was just because he was more experienced. Fortunately the worst they received in terms of injury were some bruises. They stung, but wouldn't do much damage hopefully. Loki kept things simple, as she was likely to be picking up this kind of weapon unplanned, rather than having one with her.

"This is also another area where I would recommend you seek Sif's instruction. She uses a spear far more often than I do." It was definitely starting to get hot, and closer to lunch time.

She fell over quite a few times, the sand was rough to work with.

"Sif will happily teach me all the ways to stab you if I need to." Christine teases, pulling him close.

"Most likely yes. She's regarded as a goddess although the Midgard legends have it as fertility and grain. Also that her hair is golden." Loki gave a bit of a chuckle. "She would rather be regarded as a war-goddess, I believe, but..." He shrugged. "In any case, she considers you friend too and just wants what's best for you."

Loki was both astonished, but not going to question it, that Sif seemed to support his being with Christine now. Perhaps it was her own observation of how happy the other was, after she'd found out they were together. Perhaps it was Loki's rage and frustration at being unable to rescue Christine himself.

"Sif must hate being a fertility goddess." Christine laughs.

It certainly helped that Christine was obviously happy, and that she continued to be so, even while spending quite a lot of time with Loki.

"I wonder what sort of name I'd have if I had been Asgardian."

Loki pondered that, clear he was quietly thinking. "Bergljot. But I think Christine sounds nicer."

"Christine is easier to say." She wraps an arm around him. "What does that name mean?"

One hand moved to stroke her hair. "Defensive or protective light." Loki thought it fitting. "You'd likely get a nickname though. Ljote, or similar."

That's a sweet meaning and she kisses him.

"The meaning is very sweet."

[whose_son_am_i]

"I wanted to find one that fit you." Loki murmured, leaning his forehead against hers, and holding her there gently with his fingers in her hair. "We should consider cleaning ourselves up and having food soon."

"The shower looks big enough for two." As if they need encouragement to take a shower together.

"I did make sure to look at couples vacation spots." Leaning in to kiss her once more, sweet and lingering with banked passion. Enjoying the moment, before reluctantly pulling away enough to take her staff. Vanishing them both, before taking her hand--fingers twined, as they started the walk back up to the bungalow.

Imagining Loki googling for couples vacation spots is simultaneously hilarious and adorable.

"It does have a level of romance in mind."

"I've told you before. I haven't enjoyed playing gallant lover as much before, as I do when I'm with you." Bringing their hands up to kiss her knuckles.

"I am starting to suspect that it's not all an act." He actually is a gallant lover when he's with her.

He might not be good at talking about his emotions but he shows her in every affectionate little kiss.

"It started as one, but with you it has become something more." Loki confirmed, pressing their joined hands against his heart. "It's...easier, in some ways, to use the act as a template. I'm not entirely sure how to behave otherwise. It's all new."

"I count myself lucky that I get to be the first person you actually want to be gallant with."

Sometimes she's reminded that by Asgardian standards, he's still pretty young.

"Here I was thinking that I was lucky to have met you. Particularly when I was bleeding." Leaning in to kiss her cheek too.

"You did get very lucky on timing." She moves to chase his lips, kissing him more solidly.

Loki made a little satisfied and happy noise when she did, returning it. Pausing them in their walk to slide his arm around her waist and hip, pull her closer. Deepening the kiss, while keeping a leash on the passion.

They had a habit of getting lost in kisses. It's so easy for her to forget about everything else.

They really do--and it is probably a very good sign. That they can communicate so well with just even as simple a thing as a kiss. These are lingering kisses, tasting kisses, and reluctant-to-pull-away-kisses...

"Right...shower. Now." Loki murmurs, even though he hasn't let go of her.

[drpalmer]

"Now?" She mutters against his lips, making no effort to move. Christine is always there to challenge him.

"You know what I mean, Christine." Nipping at her bottom lip while he spoke. He did adore her playful side though.
