She had slept soundly as she always did when he was close.
The portal came with ease this time and when she appeared back in his room she was wearing comfortable jogger bottoms and a tee.
She was a bit excited to learn to throw knives, it's not a skill she ever imagined acquiring. And this time she was less concerned about injury, as she could now quickly heal most cuts in a matter of moments.
"I'm surprised you own a hoodie." She comments as she does a few stretches to warm up.
"I also own exactly one pair of jeans, but they're hidden away. As is this, usually." But he didn't comment on why he owned them. More fun to leave her wondering; especially since neither item had been obviously in his closet.
"So, we're going to start you with knives that are balanced and designed for throwing. Once you've practiced enough with those, you can start practicing with your own dagger. I suggest you learn with both the one Sif gave you, and the one I gave you."
Her action made him laugh and grin at her. "Ah, been learning the balance and feel of your own dagger huh?"
Or were you simply trying to show off? Teasing her, brushing her mind gently.
"I'll be impressed when you can do it with either hand, or both at once." But he picked up a dagger himself, and moved closer so she could see. "We're going to start off and stay with a stationary position until you've mastered it. You want to be relaxed, but stand up straight. You're not going to be focusing on accuracy of power just yet, but on getting the technique down. Got it?"
"Right, so, you're going to start by holding your dagger like this." Showing her his own grip, blade held carefully towards himself, thumb on top of the blade, and fingers tucked in carefully. "We're a little over 1.83m away from the targets, which should allow for one half rotation of the knife. We can play with distance later as well."
Pausing, and smiling at her encouragingly. "And once you've mastered all the basics, you can use telekinesis to add more power or longer distance, or both."
"That, you'd have to talk to either Strange or Thor about. Electricity is not something I specialize in." For her, Loki tried to keep any testiness out of his voice.
....she had a point. I'm oversensitive sometimes. Can't really help it. Free hand reaching up to brush her cheek briefly, softly. Just for a moment.
Then it was back to business. "So, now that you have your grip, you want your stance to have your foot with your throwing hand slightly out. Remember, relaxed but good posture. You aren't going to throw hard, you just want to hit the target at all. Once you can get the knife to stick in the target successfully each time, then we can move on."
Loki handed her another dagger; after this she had 9 more to try before they would retrieve them and try again. "Just keep at it, Christine. There is a bit of practice to figuring out what works best for you."
It takes another two before one sticks solidly in the target. It does take a bit of work to feel how to throw them. And her actual dagger is going to feel different still.
"Good. Now we're going to keep doing this until you get it consistently in the target every time." Loki let one half of his mouth quirk up in a smile. "Exciting, isn't it?" By which he meant it wasn't, but that was alright. At least as long as it was with her.
He made occasional corrections, or reminders, but otherwise Loki just supervised. Content to be in her company, and working out the details of his plan for some applied chaos. For a good cause.
I'll have to see about getting you a set of throwing knives. Some of your modern midgard designs are....interesting. Ideally you should never be without a weapon, which is why you have the bracelet to go with your dagger.
He's coming over too, moving to hold her hand gently so he can examine the wound too. "Perhaps I should've given you full gloves, instead of kept most of your hand and fingers free." But he'd wanted her to have the extra dexterity first, so she could get used to it.
That had his brows shooting up in surprise. Looking at her with wonder for a moment, before he smiled at her. Genuine, and soft. "You do realize that uses up energy that comes from the caster, right?"
I hope you don't use your own energy all the time. You're strong, My Sweetling, but still only human and just learning.
It is a very sweet moment, which is probably why it was interrupted. The footsteps were audible before anything else. And while Loki wasn't so lost in his own little world with Christine as to be unaware, it still caught him a bit by surprise. A dagger was in his free hand in a second, and he was turning, in a ready position to throw.
Sif raised both brows, and held up her hands. "Peace, Trickster. I...didn't expect you here." She looked amused and surprised herself.

Of course she did want to show off a bit, she always wants to be a little impressive.
She nods, listening to his instructions.
"Got it."

Because that would have a great impact really. Even hitting an arm could drop someone to the ground if it was also charged.

She closes her eyes to focus and there is a shimmer of energy that grows at her finger, sealing the wound shut.
It's small enough for pure energy healing.

I only use raw energy for very small wounds, promise.
She does grin at him, always thrilled to surprise him.

"Hi Sif." Christine gives a sheepish little wave.
