*I* certainly won't be anytime soon, and I am okay with that. Loki's mental voice was filled with soft laughter and amusement. Besides, I've heard that Doctors of your caliber are considered heroes already many times. With clear pride for her.

Moving them towards the edge of the dance floor, where it was easier for them to then exit to find a table. "Go find a seat, Christine. I'll bring us something to drink."

"Thank you." She slips off to find a seat near Brunhilde, who she greets with a wave.

Brunhilde had attended in a very sharp, tailored suit instead of a gown. She smiled at Christine when the other sat down, and had a glass over her own. "Ah, you two finally going public?"

Christine laughs.

"How could you have possibly known before now?" It's obviously a joke, everyone at least suspected.

"He hasn't exactly been subtle, nor have you." Brunhilde replied. "At least at first, we might've all just thought it a whim. Glad to see it wasn't. He needs someone to occupy him to keep the rest of us from dealing with him."

"Honestly? I thought it was just a whim at first too." Christine chuckles. "Was he honestly that bad?"

She doesn't often get to openly ask about Loki, especially while he's not around.

"I'm not the best person to ask. I only know him from reputation after meeting him just about a year ago. I honestly thought he was one of the Grand Master's lackeys and hangers-on, on Sakaar." Brunhilde said genuinely. "I can say most of the reputation matched, from what I saw on Sakaar and have heard since, except where you're concerned."

"I think I've just gotten very lucky, he's always been rather nice to me."

Christine never ceases to be amazed by Loki's reputation vs what she's been with.

"I was living in New York during the invasion, so I didn't have the best first impression."

"Yet...you helped him, from what I understand?" Brunhilde tilted her head, confused. "To meet him originally. That's how the rumors are going. You found him injured."

"He was bleeding out." She nodded. "I couldn't just leave him, it's not in my nature, no matter who it is."

"He probably deserved it. At least..." Brunhilde had a thoughtful look on her face. "At least back then. He's still far too secretive, sneaky, and conniving, but the general mayhem has been more...useful?"

"He's very secretive, but I think he's been using his talents for things that are a bit more useful and positive."

She likes to think she's played a hand in that change.

"Let's hope that's what it is, and that it sticks." Brunhilde said with a smile and soft laugh. "Anyway, are you having fun?"

"If he does anything terrible he will have an angry sorceress waiting at home." And Christine is both strong and intimately bonded to him.

"I am. This is my first Yule, it's very festive."

"I hope that's enough of a deterrent." Brunhilde saluted her. "It's mine in....a very very long time. I missed it. What about you, Loki? Are you enjoying yourself?" Since he'd returned with two champagne flutes, moving to take a seat next to Christine. "I'm certainly more social than I have been before." He responded with a polite smile.

She takes her glass and she seems to just light up as he joins her.

"Is it because I'm not letting you sit in a corner with a book?" There's a little smile and a caress of the mind.

"That's certainly a great part of it." Loki agreed, eyes amused and a hint of smile on his face. Brunhilde chuckled. "I don't know, I often saw you being social on Sakaar. The Grand Master did like his parties."

"Well I had to secure his favor somehow, didn't I?"

Well, Christine is suddenly in the middle of this exchange.

"He was the one with the orgy ship?"

Brunhilde couldn't help her laughter. "Yes, if you want to describe it that way. I'm glad I didn't investigate it too much, if that's what you're calling it."

"You should see the mood lighting on the ship, it's incredible."

Christine does actually like the commodore, it's a nice ship.

"I'll take your word on the mood lighting." She said with a wry smile, and a glance at Loki. "I know you've been using it the most out of any of us, despite Thor and I stealing it."

"Yes, and Thor has been aware almost every time I've borrowed it since." Loki replied smoothly, raising an eyebrow. If Brunhilde wanted to play games, he would.

Christine sips her champagne and sends a hint of relaxing emotion to the two of them.

This is a good night, and she's not going to encourage the bickering.

I feel what you're doing, Sweetling. Loki sent back, a hint of warning in the mental tone. Just a hint though, which she should understand because he didn't like being manipulated.

Brunhilde shrugged, and picked up her own half-full glass. "Easy, Loki. I'm certainly in no hurry to use it. It is a nice ship, considering it was the Grand Master's own pleasure cruiser."

I knew you'd resist it anyway. it was more of a general feeling. I'm sorry.

Christine actually reaches out to touch Loki's arm.

Accepted, Sweetling. Loki let his mind wrap around hers gently. We can talk later, if you wish.

"I managed to clear out most of the questionable records and recordings." Loki said genially. "The ship has also been thoroughly cleaned, repeatedly. I oversaw that, myself."
