It really was reminding her of sword training. She'd had it metaphorically drummed into her head that a sword could work both ways, and that respect for it and other weaponry was the top priority. To dismiss it would be inviting death and that seemed to be how this new... well, both ability and means of defense, would best be handled.
"It's like recovering from an illness. I don't want to rely on pushing past the overuse-- that would be as smart as trying to walk on a broken leg." Eilonwy finished the broth and sat the spoon down. "I'll keep aware of things and act accordingly."
Loki nodded, and was clearly proud of her. "If you ask, I can tell you ways to go past overuse, but only if you ask. I hope you never will." But again, he respected her and her judgement and sense.
"I'll do my best not to." It sounded like a last resort option. Eilonwy also understood that if she took the viewpoint that because she could have the ability to push beyond her physical and mental limits, she could get complacent. There was a difference between confidence and idiocy, and Eilonwy wasn't in the mood to be foolish. Not about this.
She looked back to her empty bowl in thought. "Let me think.. You've brought food and medicine, and you're being very good company." With her migraine easing off, Eilonwy grinned lightly.
"I play chess, and do riddle games, with Alice regularly. I also play chess with others. I've started doing riddle games with Kaiba." Those were the easy answers. "I tend to be fond of games that require one to use one's intelligence, but also to be clever and surprising. It's very in character for me, really."
"It's not suffering as much. I think if it were strong enough to cause another headache, you wouldn't sound like you're agreeing to it!" Eilonwy countered with a returned smile.
Eilonwy knew a confirming question when she heard it, and reconsidered. "That's fair. We'll do it another time, then." She wasn't afraid of a challenge, but her good judgement was kicking in. "I won't expect you to go easy on me."
"I'll look forward to it, but definitely don't want to undo any good we've already done." Honestly, he figured that Eilonwy would resent it if he DID go easy on her. That just wasn't his way really. At least, not without a purpose to it.
"That would defeat the purpose, yes." Eilonwy agreed. Loki's thoughts were also right, Eilonwy had her pride about her wits and intelligence. She moved to stand and collect her bowl. "Would you like something to eat while you're still here? I'm going to have another bowl."
"No, but thank you. I'll probably leave soon. I want to make sure you're settled and doing better though, before I depart." Loki was also enjoying the time with her.
"Then I'll have the second bowl after you leave." The bowl and cup were put in the kitchen for the time being and Eilonwy headed back into the main room. "I'm doing much better, I might rest a bit before I eat again. I don't want to stay up much longer, I'm worried it could make sleeping through the night harder."
"I don't think you'll have trouble with that, personally. Even if you're feeling better your body and mind need to recover still. Rest and sleep are the best cures for that." Loki gave a soft chuckle. "I won't stay too much longer either. Any more questions or assistance I can offer?"
"It's true." Eilonwy agreed. Both were often suggested along with any medicines used in Prydain. She shook her head. "No, I can't think of anything else right now. You've answered the questions I had already and you've also helped."
"Then I'll show myself out, so you can continue to feel better. Please keep me updated if something changes. And don't be afraid to go to the clinic either. I'm not really medically trained, but this is all based on what my mother did when I'd overuse my magic and cause myself pain." Loki said while getting to his feet. Then he paused, before adding "...I am honored, that you came to me with this. Thank you."
