To be fair, he does too--even with magic. "You need to learn to strike without having to lower your shielding. And I can only help so much, because mine isn't tied to my Empathy the way yours is." But she had shown herself to be capable and intelligent and a quick study so far.

Leaning up he pressed a kiss to her forehead, squeezing her hand where he held it. "We should get cleaned up, and we can talk and I can show you while we're getting ready."

She nods, it makes sense. She can't make herself open when she needs to attack.

"Probably shouldn't shower together." She chuckles, "we would be very late."

Another kiss against her forehead, holding her tightly. "It would take the edge off but only make us want more." Bringing her hand up to nuzzle, before he let's it go apologetically. Pulling back as well. "You have a selection in the bedroom to choose from. I'll be quick and have far less of a choice to make."

"We don't go for quickies, do we?" Nor do they seem to go for just once.

She lets him go, they do have some responsibilities.

"Are you going to go with something green for a change?" Unless he is going to wear a suit, it seems likely to be green.

She steps away to go to the bedroom to choose from the clothes set out for her.

That brings laughter, as he's pulling off the padded leather over-jacket. "Formal Midgardian style, Sweetling. I'll have a deep green tie and accents, but otherwise was going with basic black."

He's entirely un-self-conscious as he removes the light armor he had been wearing, to head for the bathroom.

Hanging not far away, are a variety of options for Christine, although most seemed to be of a pant-suit variety. She had choices it would seem.

She's shameless in watching him undress. She may have to wait to have him, but at least she gets a good view of what she gets to come back to.

magnificent ass. Comes to him as he walks away.

She will pick between the blue or green suit options, both colors suit her skin well.

There's amusement and mental laughter sent to her. I quite like yours as well Sweetling.

His own clothes were hanging up, so she could see if she wanted to snoop in the closet. A black 3-piece formal suit with white dress shirt. Lain out nearby were a tie, pocket kerchief, and tie clip. Should she continue snooping, she will find no jeans at all among 'casual' wear, and a clear preference for style even when dressed down. It is a comfortable blend of Midgardian and Asgardian styles.

It's not long at all also before she'll hear the shower running.

Of course she's going to snoop, running her hands along his clothes with a little smile; she couldn't have pictured him in jeans anyway. Everything in his closet looks like it's practical enough for a good range of movement.

She ends at the tie, a little smile tugging at her lips at how perfectly it fits his usual look.

Christine realizes her bag doesn't have much in the way of makeup, just a tube of chapstick. And while she's never felt a need for the stuff, if given the choice, she probably would have put on a bit for a formal state dinner.

He had told her to be welcome in his rooms; whether she'd understood it, considering he'd said so in Asgardian...

She could always call for Dagny for assistance--she had been shown how. There were panels to do so in both the bedroom and sitting room.

She's not so worried about makeup that she thinks to call help.

Though she will probably need a bit of magical help to get her hair dry in a reasonable amount of time.

Loki especially understands that style and presentation is important; he'll happily help with whatever she needs. Or wants.

Nor does he take too long in the shower, although apparently he's toweling himself off the old fashioned way. Still entirely un-self-conscious and shameless, too. "Are you pleased with your choices? What else do you need or want?"

tease It's full of amusement at the way he's just roaming around naked, they are his rooms, and she would never turn down the view.

"The suits are very good. I'm thinking of going for the blue so I don't match you too much."

Her mental comment has him bowing in acknowledgement, with a smirk full of mischief sent her way.

"You might match Thor without meaning to, as I believe he's planning to wear blue." Towel around his neck, Loki strode over to her and cupped her face for a soft and quick kiss. "Wear what you want Sweetling. Whether it matches me or not. I am your official escort."

A pause, and smile as he pulled back. "It's calculated that way to offer more legitimacy to my presence too. That I am not a 'threat' so to speak. You are from the city that was the focal point of my invasion 5 years ago. If you are comfortable with me escorting you, then I must be safe, right?"

And it aligned perfectly with what was really going on.

He is naturally a tease, no surprise there.

"I don't believe for one moment that you're safe." While she trusts him, she would be foolish to think he was safe. "But it is a smart move. I like the green."

And she likes looking a bit like a united front.

"That's because you're smart." Loki agreed, leaning in for one more quick kiss. "Go clean up, Sweetling. Then I can work on showing you how to attack without lowering your shield."

One last kiss and she's on the way to the shower. She's quick though, just a few minutes until she comes back out with a towel wrapped around herself.

"I will need a bit of magic to dry my hair, otherwise it'll take ages."

He's at least dressed enough to be decent, by the time she comes back. "Sweetling, I'll magic for you whatever you want." Working on putting his tie on.

He looks just as good in a suit as she imagined.

"Might need a bit of jewlery to go with the suit." There were definitely perks to being with a magic user for sure.

"I am very much looking forward to taking you out of that suit after dinner."

"Think about what you might want, jewelry wise. Picture it as clearly in your mind as you can. It'll be a good training exercise too." Loki straightened the tie up, then added the tie clasp and vest. A visual check over himself, before turning fully to Christine.

"I'm very much looking to doing the same, Sweetling. We have a tub to soak in together too."

It's her turn to tease as she dips into the bathroom to hang up the towel before coming back in nude. She's not quite as brashly confident as he is, but she isn't shy either.

She is lovely and Loki is more than happy to watch her. Or help her dress, if she wants. It's an excuse for soft affectionate touch and kisses and nuzzling. Nothing that would work them up, but just a general sharing of happiness in her presence.

She can get on at least most everything on her own, though she will stop, shirt still unbuttoned to steal a few little kisses.

She didn't need the help anymore than he did. But it was a good excuse to steal kisses and be sweet with each other. Which is what Loki wanted; even though he behaved for the most part.

When he finally did pull back, he offered her a soft smile. "Any questions about tonight?"

"Is there anything specific I need to do?"

All the sweet affection is welcomed and reciprocated.

"This may surprise you, but I've never been to a state dinner before."

"Be yourself?" Loki said with an eyebrow raise and grin. "We'll be dining with the King of Norway, as well as the Prime Minister. When we first enter, Thor will be standing by his chair and we'll walk to our seats, bow, and then we wait. That will be the formal presentation, as it were. Heimdall will be there, and follow us in much the same way, escorting the prime-minister. The same for the King of Norway. The rest are minor dignitaries the Norway delegation saw fit to bring, and not as important for you to remember. Once everyone has been formally presented, Thor will signal we're to be seated and I'll help you to your own. Be friendly and polite, and you'll do fine."

Of course, what neither of them knew was that Lady Sif had arrived from her time with SHIELD. She would be escorting the King of Norway--important honors for the important guests. Which Christine was being counted among. Ordinarily it would be Heimdall escorting her, but they'd found reasons for Loki to do so--Thor did have some consideration for others and liked seeing his brother actually happy. Without the cause of that happiness being general chaos.

"You will have an advantage. I have never been as close, mentally, with anyone else to the point where they can speak back. So if you have questions or need coaching, I won't hesitate to answer or do so."
