Loki nodded, and he brought her hand up to kiss. "I've been doing....I suppose you'd call it soul searching." Still quietly voiced, soft and serious. He stepped back only a bit from her, holding her left hand and turning it palm up. There was a wash of his magic over him, but Loki also conjured a small object he then placed in Christine's palm.

Whether she'd notice at first that a similar one was also on his own left hand, he didn't know.

"I did say that by the end of the festivities, it would no longer be a secret."

She glances at her palm and then back at him several times. In terms of being a surprise this is probably the biggest one of her life.

"Is this? Are you?" She will make an actual sentence eventually.

Loki blinked slowly, with an affectionate smile on his face. "I...didn't know I was capable of love. I still have a very selective heart however." It both was and was not an answer.

She's still absolutely dumbstruck by the little ring in her hand.

"There's usually a question with this, maybe, if that's what you're going for..."

And she's reached the part where she just rambles a bit.

"And when have I ever done things as expected?" He's teasing her gently, a bit less shy now. "But would you have me?"

He's managed to just absolutely break her brain for a moment. But quickly she nods.

"Yes, of course I will."

Loki will lean forward and kiss her softly. Curling her hand around the ring, and his hand around her own.

She's still shocked, but she kisses him back before she just grins.

"Will you put it on my hand?"

His grin is amused and he gives a soft chuckle, before placing it on her left ring finger. Then twining their left hands, so his own is prominent too.

"And you match?" She looks at his hand. "Did we just elope?"

She is absolutely glowing with giddy excitement.

"Even if we did, there will still probably be formal arrangements and a ceremony. If only because I'm royal." She's beautiful, and Loki leaned in to kiss her again. They were both still clad in their Asgardian finery too.

"Oh. You're actually going to make me a princess." That makes her giggle as she kisses him.

"I love you."

Loki chuckles too, and brings his right hand up to stroke her cheek. "I suppose I do have one last gift for you then." Pausing, and smiling softly at her. "I love you."

She's known, for longer than he has, but hearing him say it, makes her heart pound in her chest.

She's waited so long to actually hear it. She turns to kiss his palm, Christine is all smiles.

"I'm guessing you'll dance with me tonight, huh?"

"I'd planned on it, yes." Loki murmured, stealing one more kiss and holding it. Soft, lovingly and purposefully projecting love this time. Letting her feel it in all the good and bad.

The kiss is slow and full of love, she projects back her happiness, her comfort in being with him. Her joy.

Loki wraps his mind around her own, cradling it (and her) as the precious gift she was. One he cherished. Who knows how long they stayed like that, just savoring each other via lips and soft touches and mental caresses.

But eventually they needed to part, and Loki is careful of his crown as he leaned his forehead against her own. "We should change for the ball, my Sweetling."

She reaches up to playfully touch one of his horns.

"I guess it's very appropriate that I picked an emerald green gown for tonight."

"I wish we had more time before we have to get ready." The smile was full of mischief. "Are we helping each other disrobe?"

"As long as we can keep from ending up in bed, I think so."

She's gotten quite good at helping him out of his armor, and some of it does seem easier with a second set of hands.

"I think we can manage that, my Sweetling." Loki murmured, leaning in for one more kiss. Keeping it quick and soft and sweet. He kept hold of her hand, and lead the way back to the bedroom, and their closet.

Tonight was going to be even more exciting then she had imagined because she is positive Loki didn't mention his gift to anyone.

"Are you wearing horns tonight?" She's already helping him with some of the fastenings to his armor.

It was a very stripped down form of his armor, so it didn't take much work. There are lots of soft touches as he helps her out of her own Asgardian garb. He'd picked out a dark black 3 piece suit, with a deep emerald green shirt. Again there was the gold half-circular tie-clip pinning the black tie.

She smiles at the suit, and takes a moment to kiss his chest over his heart.

Her gown sparkles in green. She had chosen it to finally get her own little cape for an evening.
