Thor made the firepit and helped gather kindling and making space. Loki paced around the space, studying. Before conjuring up a small stand and a kettle, along with mugs. "Do you think we need a watch, Thor?"
He also expended some energy to conjure up cloaks for all three of them--red for Thor, green for himself, and blue for Christine.
I'm not sure we need one, but you'd be expected to be part of it all the same. You have nothing you need prove to Thor or to me, Sweetling. At least that was how Loki was understanding his brother's actions and how he'd treated her so far.
"This seems to be a living wood, yet we've crossed no animals nor seen sign that they'd come close to us." Thor pondered. "I confess also, that all of this has me out of my element. Magic was ever your area, Brother, not mine."
Loki moved to pass his cloak to Christine, as he didn't really feel the cold. "If the point of this is that we'll find the Norns when they want us to, then a watch shouldn't be necessary."
I think you have it, from all I can tell, my Sweetling. He calls you friend, when it's come up before. Loki was still pacing the edges of the clearing, analyzing what magic he could sense.
Thor had likewise settled with his cloak around him by the fire. "Loki?" Willing to take his brother's advice on this. Finally, Loki came back to join them by the fire. "I think we wait. There is still magic here, and it's difficult to read."
"Then we should rest, while we can. Rest well Christine, Brother." Simple enough to Thor, as he settled himself in his cloak and as comfy as he could be, to go to sleep.
Once Loki was sure Thor was asleep, he moved over to Christine and wrapped an arm around her.
Do you want to have grown up a Jotunn and not knowing it for a millenia? There's amusement in his mental voice, masking the pain. She's welcome to curl as close as she needs. At least as much as she wants, considering all of them are wearing armor. He's in his more 'classic' look, minus the horns.
"Rest Sweetling. The Norns answer to no one but themselves." Nuzzling her hair, with a soft kiss on her forehead. "Not our most comfortable bed, but we'll manage."
Sleep, Sweetling. I'll keep you safe. It wasn't easy, but he wrapped himself around her as much as he could. Attempting to help keep her warm.
It seemed like Christine was asleep for hours, before she was waking up. Except that in the clearing there was no sign of Thor or Loki. Instead there was a cloaked figure tending the fire, and it was full dark with stars in the sky.
"Hail to you, Dr. Christine Palmer. We have no met, but I know you well." The figure reached up to pull back the hood of her cloak. Long hair was braided and piled in a crown atop her head with a long tail. There was something otherworldly about her.
"I keep an eye on those my sons keep company with, and I now see much more than Heimdall ever could." Frigga replied with a smile. Settling herself more comfortably. "This is one of the few places we can speak, as this is a very wyrd place. Though when you wake, you won't remember our conversation."
"It is wyrd, and old. Older than the nine-realms, where the Well sits at its roots. From here is where the Norns weave the life-paths of every being." Frigga confirmed. "You've had strong desires, and that is at least partly why I am here." Suddenly they were looking at the real-scene. There was the fire, Thor asleep on one side curled in his cloak, and Loki curled with Christine trying to keep her as warm as he could.
"One of the reasons. Like you, neither of them will remember upon waking." Frigga moved to crouch by Thor, and stroke his hair fondly. "They have been through much, though Odin and I tried to spare them." Thor didn't stir, but something in him seemed to relax with the dream-touch.
"I don't know how long we'll have, Dr. Palmer." Frigga said, moving to where Loki was curled around her. Brushing his hair back too, and resting her hand on his shoulder. "He's never known love like you give to him. Certainly not in a way he's been able to return."
"It is the way of things, and necessary. Some borders should not be crossed." Frigga said sadly, before she moved away from her sons to come closer to Christine. "He's very perceptive of others, just not of himself. We tried to spare him, to help him not feel different. I tried to help his gifts shine. We failed." It's said simply, but with clear regret.
She can, and Frigga places her own hand over Chrstine's. "Your strength is not the same as theirs, and that is as it should be. But never doubt you have your own strength, Dr. Palmer." Frigga said, firm in her tone.
"What is coming is a great battle. He will want you nowhere near it, but knows you must be. That is how things will happen in this universe. It is the weave. It will be taxing on you, but you are strong."
"You wait, though the waiting will seem long and not long." Frigga said. "There is no best way to prepare, for there are many paths this battle may take. It is ever in motion, as Skuld weaves it even now." She squeezed Christine's hand. "He is a talented liar, especially to himself--but emotions can not lie, and you know this better than anyone, Christine. Thank you."
"He can not see it yet, nor admit it to himself--but he is yours too. For however long you shall live." Frigga smiles enigmatically. "Your human myths are clever, and sometimes saw the future, or made wholecloth out of mere threads."

Given that she is the weakest of the three it's unlikely. She may not be as fragile as she was when she met Loki, but she is still human.

"So we just wait?"

Something feels off about this clearing, about the stars. It's something her mind is trying to grasp but it's just out of reach.
"Hello?"
